I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

(Slide Show has 2 slides only)Since this is Monday, the traditional day of workweek beginnings, I'll post one of my favorite quotes by Zig Ziglar.  I am a fan of Zig, and remember during the early 1980s when I launched my real estate career, often reading his inspiring quotes.  The following Zigl...

(Slide Show had 7 Slides)Today, an old friend and I went for a drive. I won't say how old this friendship is, but will tell you we went to school together a very longtime ago.  Heading east out of Sacramento on Highway 50, we ended up in the Apple Hill vicinity.  My friend recently had surgery, s...

This morning, I was reading an article presented by AARP.  It provided interesting statistics and projections by Rick Sharga, a senior vice president with RealtyTrac.  According to Sharga, the foreclosure inventory may very well reach into 2014 before it is cleared out and home prices start risin...

I am having a difficult time wrapping my head around the idea this weekend will be "Fall Back" time. It is important to remember to turn those clocks back one hour.  We certainly don't want to miss out on the gift of an extra hour of sleep, which happens just once a year.  So ditch daylight ...

A few days ago, I was digging around the refrigerator out in the garage.  I call it the "party fridge" because there is soda pop, wines, jars of olives, cheeses, salami and things of that nature out there.  I came across several bottles of Shenandoah Vineyard's Orange Muscat I have had for severa...

(Slide show is 2 slides only)On Saturday evening, while driving along the river road hugging the Sacramento River, I was on the way to Grand Island and its mansion, for the occasion of my grandson's wedding.  I became enchanted with by-gone memories of my youth.  When I was a kid, it was a Sunday...
