I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

Here is living proof that spring is in the air.  A visit to Hagan Community Park in Greater Sacramento’s City of Rancho Cordova, found this little family of ducks doing their thing in one of the local ponds.  Temperatures today in the upper 60s, seemed to elevate spirits of not only the ducks, bu...

It is no secret that housing markets are cyclic in nature.  However, this current cycle, more than any other I’ve experienced as a Realtor these past 30 years, has produced a larger percentage of vacant properties listed For Sale.  It's not only REO or bank owned properties; nor is it the number...

California is known for the gold discovery, which acted as catalyst for hoards of pioneers and wagon trains finding their way into this state, after James Marshall discovered the golden ore at Sutter’s Mill in 1849.  However, there is another golden treasure in the hills of the California Mother ...

With the calendar counting down to the April 19th date, that the on-line photo editing tool, Picnik will go away, I was happy to see this blog written by Alan May.  Alan explains that iPiccy works similar to the way Picnik did.  I encourage those who are shutterbugs, or work with photos a great d...

With the advent of spring, real estate professionals often begin hearing from folks, who are ready to place their homes on the market, and get them SOLD. It isn’t unusual for home sellers to wonder and question real estate professionals about the origin of homebuyers or where homebuyers come from...

It is no secret that Sacramento has a significant number of destinations within a short distance of each other.  In fact most folks given just a day or so to enjoy our city, can experience a great deal.Within a mere 1.5 mile radius of California’s State Capitol Building; or 3 miles from Tower Bri...

With St. Patrick's Day tomorrow, we are reminded of the traditions, that journey from the Emerald Isle.  There are the leprechauns, the shamrocks, and of course the Luck of the Irish. I have a suspicion the Luck of the Irish is more attributed to an ability to foresee trends.  For example, severa...

It’s raining here in Greater Sacramento today, and I’m really glad to see it!  It’s been an exceptionally dry winter, and I’m hoping the rains forecast to last for the next several days, will alleviate some of our concerns for water storage. Yesterday, while I was deep cleaning my landscape and...
