This morning while out riding my bike along the American River Parkway, I came across these scenes at Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova. The park district in concert with the Kiwanis Club and the Rotary Club hosted fun Easter activities for the community. The weather was overcast, but didn’t dampen the spirits of those attending. There was a Pancake Breakfast, Egg Hunts for the kids, a Small Carnival and Games. While watching the various reactions of the kids visiting the Easter Bunny, I had to smile. They either loved him or hated him! The little gal pictured thought he was pretty (17 comments)
While meandering through the casbah of our Local Farmer’s Market this morning, I almost forgot this was the weekend for the Capital Air Show. But, the sound of the Air Force Thunderbirds roaring overhead sometimes blitzed the normally quiet nature of the marketplace. Always a crowd pleaser for young and old, when the air show performs in town, this annual event is held today and tomorrow @ Mather Airport in Sacramento County’s City of Rancho Cordova.
The Date: September 8th and 9th 2012The Time: Gates open at 9:00AM and close at 5:00 PM
Temperatures today in the upper 60s, seemed to elevate spirits of not only the ducks, but wild turkeys and birds. Delightful Hagan Community Park consists of 75 acres. In the Greater Sacramento City of Rancho Cordova, a special attraction has been set up for the enjoyment of young and old.The Cordova Community Council, City of Rancho Cordova, and many community partners, have for the very first time, set up a Holiday Ice Rink. This evening I was driving near the intersection of Zinfandel and Data Drives, when I came across this delightful scene next to the Rancho Cordova Community Christmas Tree.
It was fun watching adults and kids, either on the ice, or enjoying other carnival activities. Chilly winds are still lingering locally, and the wind-chill factor isn't very comfortable. (20 comments)

rancho cordova: All Are Welcome At Nana’s House on the 4th of July - 07/04/10 08:19 AM
One photo - No slide My family is home for the holiday. I am always surprised how this house is quiet so much of the time - almost like a sanctuary! But when everyone comes home, it becomes packed with raw energy. When daughter Tami arrived, with granddaughters, Isabella and Sophi, they also came with an agenda of finding a new pet bunny. Within a short time, they were cruising Craig's List on my computer and looking for a furry friend. A couple hours later, the body count at Nana's had increased by 1. (19 comments)
