92101: Bubbles and Breezes in 92101 - 04/12/13 08:01 AM
Downtown San Diego has parks galore.  One of my favorite family activities is to take the boys over to Seaport Village to play by the water.  It is amazing to see how much fun we can have with bubbles and a breeze.
The boys also enjoy the view of "The Blue Bridge".  That is there term for the Coronado Bridge.  Blue is one of their favorite colors.

There are always plenty of people enjoying the weather and the breezes from the Bay.  I usually pack a lunch and a few toys.  It is easy to join in with other … (12 comments)

92101: Swimming and San Diego Go Together like Fish & Tacos - 03/27/13 11:23 AM

San Diego has so much to offer.  The weather is usually the first win that comes to mind.  After that the beaches and the proximity to Mexico are big wins.  The tourist attractions such as Sea World, the Gas Lamp District, Lego Land, the Coronado Bridge and Balboa Park are amazing too.
For me the beaches and downtown have always had the most draw. The beauty of the many beaches and the fun of downtown have so much to offer.  I'm starting to appreciate the canyons too.
The beaches offer swimming, surfing, water sports and sun.  Just hanging out … (2 comments)

92101: Are Clients on the Menu? - 03/20/13 07:33 AM
When you have a new prospect do you look them up online?  Do you "Google them"?  Do you look for them elsewhere online?

Don't feel guilty if you do.  It is no different than looking up a restaurant in Little Italy before you sit down at a table.  Being familiar with the menu before you commit is a nice feeling. Your clients and potential clients are doing this sort of research on you too.  Be very aware of your online presence.  It is one layer of your interview process with your sphere.
My main sources are:
1.  Google
2.  FaceBook
3.  Linked In

92101: Off the Grid in San Diego - 01/02/13 06:10 PM

Now that we are back from the holidays -
How do you manage to take care of your clients when you are away?  Many of us are guilty of being "on vacation" while a cell phone is permanently attached to the side of our head.  That has been me.  I'm working hard not to work so hard this year forward.
When I took my family to DisneyLand in October, 2012 I noticed many people on their phones and texting instead of being engaged in the moment with their friends and family.  No judgment - just an observation.  My take away … (1 comments)

92101: Kid City in San Diego's Balboa Park - 12/21/12 03:55 PM
San Diego is a fun place for children.  The weather coupled with lots of cool attractions is a win-win.  There is always something fun to do.
If you have children aged 5 and under, Kid City at the Air and Space Museum, is a must.  It is in Balboa Park directly across from the large water fountain.  Kid City is an inactive indoor play ground that looks like a mini-city.  There is a grocery store, a computer lab, a fire station and lots of pictures of buildings.  There are also balls that shoot up with compressed air.  I guess that must … (0 comments)

92101: Urban Flowers in San Diego - 12/15/12 03:58 PM
When you are out enjoying the holiday spirit in downtown San Diego there is a lot to drink in.  The people bundled up for the cold weather of say 60 degrees for instance.  The decorations downtown are tasteful and fun.  Some of the store windows hire artists to paint them.  Many of the stores decorate with lights and flowers.

Given that our winters are warm we have a wealth of flowers.  Picking up a bouquet on my way home on my way to a friend's house is a nice way to cap off a walk.  My favorite place to stop … (2 comments)

92101: Sea Lions and Spaghetti - Wyland Mural in Little Italy - 12/09/12 01:40 PM
Feel free to become my pal on Facebook.  If you do, you will be subjected to my reflections on life's positive and not so positive challenges.  They are referred to as "Today's Challenge".  These challenges hit a common chord with people and I'm delighted to say that people call me, stop me on the street and email me their challenges.
Today's Challenge:  Accepting "progress" is a relative term. The Wyland mural in Little Italy is vanishing.
I am accustomed to walking or driving past this mural.  It is a pleasant reminder that we lucky folks in San Diego are hugging the … (0 comments)

92101: Horizons on the Downtown San Diego Horizon - 12/08/12 08:45 AM
Our overall for sale inventory is extremely low in San Diego County.  This is especially true for downtown San Diego.  The 92101 zip code was hit early by the change in the market.  Downtown has been in a recovery stage for approximately a year.
Horizons is a highly desireable building in downtown San Diego.  It is in the luxury Marina District.  The inventory for sale in the complex is limited and in demand.  Horizons was the first building built by BOSA in San Diego.  It has uncompromised views of the city, the Bay and the Ocean.
The location is ultra convenient … (0 comments)

92101: San Diego Ballpark Loft - unique lease opportunity - 12/02/12 02:45 PM
There are seven small districts in downtown San Diego.  The is one additional huge district of approximately 325 acres;  it is called East Village.  The area of East Village that hugs the PetCo Ballpark is the most hip and desirable section.  Before CCDC closed down there was talk of sub-dividing the Village into four sections.  The section by the Ballpark was to be named The Ballpark District.  This didn't officially happen however the residents have done it for themselves.

We have a unique loft for rent one block from the Ballpark.  It is in ParkLoft, one of my favorite buildings.  Take … (0 comments)

92101: Bananas are Sexier in San Diego - 11/30/12 01:52 PM
Walking along the San Diego waterfront downtown is one of my favorite pastimes. It is relaxing to look out at Coronado and the Pacific Ocean from the city walk way. Aside from geography the views change dramatically every day. There are various boats, military manuevers, ferries, kayaks and birds to amuse a casual walker.
One aspect of the landscape has always intrigued me. No, it is not the Coronado Bridge although it is beautiful. What catches my eye is the Dole Banana activity behind the Bay Front Hilton. There are trucks and container ships moving about. Someone is probably humming, "Dayo, … (0 comments)

92101: Holiday Experiences: Art and Wine in San Diego - 11/26/12 07:18 AM
Holiday gift giving is always a challenge.  Some years I go with a baseline theme such as animals.  Then I give give certificates to the San Diego Zoo.  Other years I have opted for marine life and Sea World or Scripps Aquarium gift certificates.  For young children I make or purchase items suitable for their ages.  Whenever possible I prefer to gift experiences as opposed to more sneeds.
An experience that would make a fun gift has caught my eye in San Diego.  It is Wine and Canvas.  These are one night art classes that meet to recreate a famous masterpiece of art.   … (2 comments)

92101: The Marina District in 92101 - 11/14/12 05:16 AM

The Marina District is a unique component of downtown San Diego.  Almost anything you could want or imagine is within a quick stroll.  The Marina District is primarily man made.  The original waterfront was on Front Street.  The neighborhood hosts the majority of the luxury high rise condos in downtown San Diego.
One of my favorite buildings is Horizons. The inventory for sale there is limited.  The inventory for rent is even lower.  My team represents the majority of Landlords in the complex.  We also place tenants. We have leased out every condo on the 19th floor of 510 First Avenue.
The building … (0 comments)
