mls: Ottawa’s Real Estate sales down slightly in January 2016 - 02/05/16 02:47 AM
Ottawa’s Real Estate sales down slightly in January, but still close to average

Winter was delayed in arriving in the Ottawa area, but the cold temperatures finally landed in January of 2016 and cooled Ottawa sales slightly for the month, as is typical for the winter, when everyone wants  to stay warm and indoors.
In good news, however, the Ottawa Real Estate Board reports that sales for the month were not far below the five-year average for January sales in Ottawa.
Sales had been higher than usual in December of 2015, perhaps partly because that month saw warmer than usual temperatures for Ottawa.

It was not exactly the kind of weather that’s ideal for shopping for a new home, but in good news, the Ottawa Real Estate Board reports that resales for the month were actually only slightly lower than February of last year and the five-year average numbers for February sales.
A news release on the board’s website reports that members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 853 residential … (0 comments)

There is good news to report from the Ottawa real estate market’s sales in September, with sales and average prices year-to-date right on par with five-year averages.
In a press release posted on the Ottawa Real Estate Board’s website (ottawarealestate.org), Board President Randy Oickle says the Ottawa area “is fortunate to enjoy one of the most stable real estate markets in Canada. mls: Preparing to Sell: The timelines to a Successful Sale - 05/02/14 03:04 AM
When clients contact me to put their homes on the market, they’re sometimes surprised when I explain how much preparation work is involved to get the home looking its best before we can put that For Sale sign on the front lawn and start the pre-marketing and place the property on MLS.
While I sometimes come across a home that’s in such a perfect, showroom state and I can place it on the market a week after, that’s an exception. On average, it takes about six weeks between my first visit and officially putting the home onto the market.
It can take longer if more work … (0 comments)
