A picture window... is worth a thousand words...
I have finally finished my family room transformation.  At least that is what I told my husband.  Ok, ok.  I'm done.
I started the project two years ago when I invited a friend over to my house to help me re-arrange my furniture in my family room.  My friend is also a professional decorator, and stagger for our listings.  Our family room is a large room and I knew that it just didn't feel right.  We have beautiful burgundy colored leather sofas, beautiful custom tables, and large picture windows facing west, toward the … (3 comments)

Sounds of Summer, Thunder, or.... Freedom! - 05/26/10 06:12 PM
Sounds of Summer, Thunder, or.... Freedom!
We have the privilege, yes privilege, of living in Colorado Springs where the Thunderbirds give an incredible show every year during the US Air Force Academy graduation.  They also practice 2-3 days prior to graduation, so we have ample opportunities to take pictures and videos every year and it is just as exciting as the first time we saw it 7 years ago out our back door.
No matter where you live in northern Colorado Springs, you can pretty much expect a fly over during the practices and show, just keep your cameras ready.  Everyone … (0 comments)

Are you a cloud watcher? - 05/22/10 03:22 PM
Are you a cloud watcher?  Or do you even see clouds like this where you live?  This post is for all my friends and family back east who can't see the clouds through the trees.  Spring is my favorite time of year for seeing the beautiful puffy clouds late in the day when the afternoon or evening sun illuminates them with the different colors.  Prior to working in real estate, I could sit on my patio and pass the day watching the skies.  Yes, there are actually cloud watching clubs.  I don't have time to do that anymore, but I frequently … (5 comments)

Summer math program for the kids. - 05/20/10 07:42 PM
Summer math program for the kids. I typically do not mix my personal life with my business, but sometimes I make the exception when I believe it can help others.

About four years ago a friend told me about a math program her boys were enrolled in called Kumon.  You may have seen the commercials on TV on Saturday morning.  I am a true believer.  It really works.  It is a self-paced program based on work sheets that are half page size with work on both sides.  At the beginning, it is easy for the kids to complete 10 sheets … (0 comments)

How to sell your Colorado Springs home as a FSBO. - 05/06/10 08:54 PM
How to sell your Colorado Springs home as a For Sale By Owner (FSBO).  The number one thing you can do is to be cooperative with the agents that call on your home.  Many will be calling to try and get you to list with them, but if you are nice and agree to allow them to bring a buyer and OFFER the going rate for the buyer’s agent commission, many agents will see you as a cooperative seller and willing to show your property to their buyers.
I frequently call on FSBOs in Colorado Springs, because I have an interest … (0 comments)
