Another closing today resulted in a win - win for both buyers and sellers. We represented the sellers and here is what they had to say: "Nancy and Ann initially explained everything that was going to happen. They set a reasonable initial price based on existing comps. In spite of the changing market, they worked with us to keep our price realistic and in range of existing comps. They gave constant feedback on showings and met with us when necessary to set goals and adjust the price based on the market. Nancy and Ann were VERY patient with us (3 comments)

Property Taxes in Colorado Springs are Expected to go Down - 02/25/11 07:17 PM
Property Taxes in Colorado Springs are expected to go down due to the declining real estate market, but I'm not so sure this is a good thing. All of our public services depend on the property taxes, if the taxes go down, the direct response is to reduce public services. This inlcudes the public schools, libraries, police departments and fire departments. The school districts are already planning for a reduction in public funds. Academy Schoold District 20 is looking at charging a fee for bus service and District 49 is looking at contracting out their bus service, which translates to a (1 comments)

Consumer Warning on Pictures Taken with Smart Phones - 02/25/11 02:19 PM
Consumer Warning on Pictures Taken with Smart Phones. This is a little more than disturbing. If you take a picture with your smart phone with the GPS on, the picture is tagged with the GPS location. This video shows how a mom innocently took a picture of her children and posted them on Facebook, and how someone not so innocent could find the location tag for the picture, which happened to be their home. A warning for all of us to be vigilant about what we do online. (3 comments)

Kitchen Makeover in Colorado Springs - My Home - 02/17/11 06:36 PM
Kitchen makeover in Colorado Springs - My home. We have lived in this house in Pine Creek for 8.5 years and when we purchased the home, we talked about replacing the back splash and counters, because they were builder standard and we wanted a higher quality looking kitchen. Well, it only took 6 years to get around to it and today we finished the last step, tiling around the island. To be honest with you, we didn't think about doing the island until I happened to see something similar in a house I showed about a year ago. Once I saw (3 comments)
Couple more good reasons to live in Colorado Springs! - 02/16/11 09:56 PM
Couple more good reasons to live in Colorado Springs! I was recently asked by two non-local buyers why we settled down in Colorado Springs. It was a very easy conversation. At the top of our list are the schools in Academy School District 20, the climate, our neighborhood (Pine Creek), our house (main level living) and an incredible view. Well, now we can add one more to the list - an improving real estate market. CNN Money recently published an article - Housing Market - Best Recovery Bets and it is no surprise that Colorado Springs is #8 on the list. (1 comments)

Why should I buy a home in Colorado Springs when I can rent a bigger home for the same price as a mortgage? - 02/01/11 07:20 PM
Why should I buy a home in Colorado Springs when I can rent a bigger home for the same price as a mortgage?Maybe right now you can rent a bigger home in Colorado Springs for the same price as a mortgage, but as rental rates go up (3-5%) every year, you will need to constantly move down in rent and size in order to keep the same rent for the next 30 years. Huh? Ok, look at it this way, if you can rent a home today for $1,500, this same monthly payment can buy you a home at about $234,500 (0 comments)
