My thoughts and prayers go to out to all of the victims, their families, the Red Cross, good Samaritans, emergency 1st responders, fire, police, and medical professionals who are involved in this catastrophe.  Kudos to all.
The staff of the Red Cross Twin Cities and Hennepin County Medical Center have been excellent.  If you'd like to help, please click on this Red Cross link and make a donation.  Or give blood to your local blood bank - regardless of where you live - summertime is a tough time for blood banks all across the nation.

Minneapolis Bridge Collapse, Updated May 25th, 2008, Minnesota I-35W - 08/02/07 12:43 AM
Its been almost a year and I can't believe how quickly the new bridge is going up.  Our Legislature has also approved a fund to help the victims of the collapse.
This week, the media is covering the release of a report which was conducted for the Minnesota State Legislatureby a private law firm which cites money concerns as one of the major factors in the bridge collapse.  It seems the bridge had been rated in "serious to poor condition" for 17 years straight.  And rather than fixing the bridge, or building a new one, new studies were ordered on several occasions.
