If you look at the right hand side of my blog and scroll down, you'll see this cool widget called a Cluster Map. It keeps track of visitors to my Real Estate Blog where I talk about the local area and homes for sale here in Blaine and the North Metro Twin Cities area of Minnesota. What floors me is that I have people visiting my blog from Senegal, Guam, Russia, and all over the world! How cool is that.

CALL BEFORE YOU SNAKE? OR Do I need a sewer inspection before purchasing a home?
Yes, there are a few locations in the Twin Cities where natural gas lines were crosed with sewer lines back in the 1980's. So do you need a sewer inspection before purchasing a home? Probabaly not.
However, if you have Xcel Energy as your natural gas company, then you might want to call them before you do any plumbing work that goes into the sewer line in your yard or to the street. They have been doing inspections since May and it could be 3 years before … (3 comments)

We had a wicked storm tonight that knocked out my cable right in the middle of the Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealer's 250 race in Madison, Illinois.
I just now found out who won and boy is this going to stir up some bad blood between the 2 drivers. But from what I can see, it looks like Brad started to get loose and turn towards the wall just a little bit and Carl just kept going...

I hope everyone is OK after the wicked storm that just blew through Blaine MN.
After the storm, just about sunset, I snapped this with my cell phone. By the time I was able to get my actual camera out, the moment had passed.
This photo doesn't even do it justice. The sky was so bright orange, it looked like it was on fire.

Live Loon Cam & Concern for Loons Wintering Over in the Gulf Oil Spill Area - 07/16/10 03:24 PM
The Mn DNR has tagged 10 loons with GPS transmitters so they can track them and study the effect of the Gulf Oil Spill on the health, migration patterns, and survival of our beloved State Bird, the Common Loon.Check out the full story...
It is not known if the birds will migrate to the Gulf Coast area where the oil spill could harm them or if they will seek out the cleaner waters of the Atlantic Coast.

Do You Need a Sewer Inspection Before Buying a Denver Home? - 07/16/10 02:22 PM
We have a similar but more dangerous problem here in the Twin Cities. This could be a very dangerous problem because the natural gas lines are sometimes crossed with the sewer lines. The contractors that were installing the natural gas lines evidentially didn't have good information or somehow messed up and put the natural gas lines right through the sewer lines in people's yards. So when you have a sewer problem and you call someone to clear your line, you could possibly hit the natural gas line and blow up the house! This is simply amazing. The mortgage interest rates have dropped to their all time lows.
Anyone looking at homes for sale has to be just thrilled at the latest interest rates. The chart shows nationwide averages, but the are local rates in the Minneapolis St Paul Twin Cities area that are slightly different (may be lower) for a 30 year fixed.

Sometimes I see a sunset that I want to shoot but there isn't anything to shoot except sunset. Just about anything will look nice as a silhouette with the sunset in the background. I got some gulls to pose for these shots. They work for popcorn.
