Cedar Creek Lake, TX - Hwy 334 is closed from Seven Points to Gun Barrel City - 09/16/10 06:26 PM
TXDot says that it appears a barge hit one of the columns on the bridge between Seven Points and Gun Barrel City, east of Cedar Isle, cracking the column.
Contractors have been asked to bid on a temporary repair of the bridge. In the meantime, highway 334 is closed until the column is repaired.
To go between the two cities will require going north through Kemp and Mabank, or the longer southern route, through Malakoff and Trinidad.

Cedar Creek Lake - Hwy 334 is closed - 09/16/10 02:00 PM
The causeway bridge connecting Seven Points and Gun Barrel City is closed while the bridge is being inspected. Some issues have been found that concern TXDot, causing the inspection. TXDoT is not saying when they expect it to be reopened until the inspection report is complete.
This closure will add 20 miles to a trip from Seven Points to Gun Barrel City/Mabank by requiring drivers to go 10 miles north to Hwy 175. These directions are well know by locals. If you need help with routing, please call or email us.

Cedar Creek Lake - Clean Up Day is Saturday, September 25th - 09/15/10 12:04 PM
The annual Tarrant Regional Water District Clean-up Day is Saturday, September 25th.
For those of you who haven't participated in Clean-up Day in the past, teams go out and clean the roadsides and the shoreline of the lake area, then meet up at Tom Finley Park around 11:00 AM for a big party, sponsored by TRWD. This is a lot of fun, plus a great community service, so please join the community to keep our lake area looking good!

Many of the homes around Cedar Creek Lake are used for weekends and vacations. As a result, we find that owners are often not aware of the activities and news that may impact their property.

Cedar Creek Lake Home Sales - First 10 days of September - 09/12/10 11:56 AM
Cedar Creek Lake area communities had 22 waterfront homes sell in August and 24 off-water home sales. The first 10 days of September we've seen 5 waterfront homes and 5 off-water homes sold.
September of 2009 we had 17 waterfront sales and 26 off-water sales. Sales don't appear to be exceeding last year's rates as we had hoped coming out of August with slightly better than last year's sales.

I commend the new couple on their financial wisdom. They have a plan! Buy something very inexpensive, pay off the mortgage in a few years, and then look to do it again with a bit more expensive home. Cedar Creek Lake, TX Real Estate Market Report for August 2010 - 09/08/10 07:21 AM
Unlike the rest of the country, we are fortunate to see homes sales around the lake show improvement.
For the summer months of May to August, 93 homes sold in 2010 compared to 109 in 2008 when our economy appeared to be significantly stronger. There were 97 off-water home sales during the summer of 2008, down to 70 in 2009 and they rebounded to 90 this summer.

Cedar Creek Lake, Texas Real Estate Market Report - 09/07/10 02:37 PM
Our home sales at Cedar Creek Lake saw a reduction in the waterfront homes sold this summer compared to 2009 and an increase in the off-water home sales.
On a year to date basis, more of our waterfront homes have sold this year and considerably more off-water homes were purchased.
The numbers below show that only about half our sales occur in the summer. Homes sell all year at Cedar Creek Lake, just like the fish eat - a little slower in the winter, but still worth going for!

Today is a beautiful day at Cedar Creek Lake.
While we're out playing, I think back to my childhood, attending Labor Day parades, picnics and parties sponsored by the UAW, Teamsters and even General Motors. That was a wonderful time when people felt aligned with both the company they worked for and the union they supported.
Labor Day was celebrated with great meaning - not just another day at the lake. While those times were fun and sincere, I'm pleased to be able to help my clients find their joy at the lake.

We've all heard complaints about the economy and the effect on the second home market. Purchasing lake homes is certainly an item that people can defer if they'd like.
We're finding people who are anxious to take advantage of the current low interest rates and favorable pricing. Actually, we're having the best year ever selling real estate at Cedar Creek Lake. While home sales are not the best on record, and there is a 2 year supply, we're finding our listings are selling. This will be a magnificent weekend to be at Cedar Creek Lake. With temperatures in the low 90s, and low humidity, we'll have perfect boating, wakeboarding and skiing weather.
The Tiki Hut and Cedar Isle are prepared for the crowds of weekenders enjoying this last BIG weekend of summer. Don's Port Marina rents boats for those that want to have a carefree weekend and leave the maintenance worries behind.
