AS we took a day trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park this past week, I was amazed at the beauty and richness of this tall forested wildland. Because of the volcanic nature of the park, I expected to only see dry and barren volcanic land. I was a misconception on my part. The park has amazing diversity in areas and topography.

We are closing on a short sale next week that is unusual. It is a small little home on the Southeast side of Redding and is located near Mercy Hospital. It is an older home 30+ and had been built in 1965. Permits are sketchy and we believe that the original home in the early 1900 was next door to this house. The ActiveRain Land Rush in California and Redding and Shasta County went off without a hetch. Smooth as silk and very slick! I can't compliment ActiveRain enough on the impressive efficiency of this rollout and new platform. I've got lots of work to do, but when you have been building for over a year with localism, it is amazing how much you already have. I have photos of most of the communities I sponsored and while I plan to do more extensive showcasing of the areas, I've already build a base to begin from past work.

Counting the minutes and several days of planning and considering what to sponsor. Strategies of stories and localism color...it's like Christimas....with lists and planning gifts that delight. I find the experience very similar to Christmas and I'm very excited about it.

Call to Action ~ Nehemiah Down Payment Assistance Program ~ Take Steps to Save This Program! - 08/01/08 02:01 PM
H.R.3221, Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 forbides FHA from insuring mortgages where the borrower's downpayment comes from private downpayment assistance providers beginning October 1, 2008. The new downpayment required for FHA loans will change from 3% to 3.5%.
This hurts a huge segment of the real estate market and a major stimulus to the industry. 40% of FHA's volume comes from Down Payment Assistance Programs. It will hurt the real estate industry. Estimates are that 300,000 working class homebuyers will now be unable to purchase in the next year alone.
