The Cascade Theatre is one of those rare historical buildings that the City of Redding rather than demolish decided to save and restore. We have lost so many of these treasures that it is a celebration that one has been saved. The result is hard to describe. We simlply don't have the art deco splendor in this day and age.

My wonderful Husband David Gendron bought me a new camera. It is the same camera that he uses and so now we have "dueling cameras". I am now entering the world of photography and very excited about it all. Here is my first photo.

Because of the volcanic nature of the park, I expected to only see dry and barren volcanic land. I was a misconception on my part. The park has amazing diversity in areas and topography.

We watched the sweetest and most magical movie the other night "Martian Child" with John Cusack and a wonderful child actor. I don't know his name, but I believe we will all know him some day.
I loved the movie because it champions the uniqueness of individuality and marching to the rhythm of your own drum or music. That inner place where we are unique.
