Selling your home?  Take your Realtor's advice! Do your cleaning, and improvements BEFORE you list it for sale!
Your home will get most showings the first couple of weeks it is on the market!  Do you get that?  The first few weeks is when it will be seen the MOST!
Clean up. Declutter. Install new flooring. Paint! Plant flowers! BEFORE you list! 
Don't wait 4 weeks down the road and THEN decide to do these things.  Yes, it might help...BUT you've missed the boat!  First impressions still count.
