Day 1, Part 2: The Condo Staging Diary: The Painters - 01/26/10 09:56 AM
The Condo Staging Diary
Day1, Part 2:  The painters have arrived!  Yay!
It can really pay to hire an experienced painter who has a versatile team.  Talented painters who can also do a little carpentry and repairs?  Priceless.  And, if you ask, they are also happy to take some small unwanted items off your hands such as vacuums and radios.
And painters are not shy about offering their opinions on your paint colors.  Mom's condo was pink and green, with blue accents.  Yes, she was stuck in the '80s and proud of it.  When she moved into the condo, she finally … (9 comments)

Day 1, Part 1: The Condo Staging Diary; What's With All The Stuff? - 01/26/10 09:26 AM
The Condo Staging Diary
Mon. Jan. 24, 2010; Day 1:  The painters arrived!  Hooray, we're on our way!
Actually, Day 1 started many months ago, when we began clearing out my mother's valuables and some of the accumulated stuff (re: George Carlin).  We were anticipating having 24/7 home care for her, and started to get ready.  The guest room was prepared for permanent company.  But instead Mom passed away, and Day 1 just seemed to stretch forward; no one wanted to seriously start the work we knew lay ahead.  Fortunately, time passes and hearts begin to heal.  Fortunately, too, our Realtor was … (11 comments)

C'MON, YOU KNOW YOU DO IT TOO!
Today it was a lovely center hall Colonial, generally well-presented (but not by a … (22 comments)

Sometimes We Don't Want Anything Staged: Nature Photography - 01/11/10 01:24 PM
Sometimes we don't want anything staged.  Sometimes we want to preserve an instant without manipulation.  Sometimes we want to bring a captured moment into our home.

"A glimpse of the beauty we see every day but often do not take the time to appreciate.  This is Nature in Photography.
Welcome to the works of award winning photographer Barry Rosa.  Barry's works are unmatched in clarity and composition.  None of the photos are staged or digitally manipulated to change what the eye really sees."
A short time ago I blogged about my friend, Karin Brey, a wonderful painter.  Barry is another … (5 comments)
