Challenging Housing Market Conditions Prevail in Washoe County During the First Quarter

First-time buyers continued to have their pick of Washoe County's available listing inventory, as  real-estate-owned (REO) properties, oversupply, and numerous buyer incentives made homebuying conditions increasingly attractive during the first quarter of 2008. Median prices for single family detached homes in Washoe County dropped by 15 percent, year-over-year, according to a report by the research division of Prudential Nevada Realty based on analysis of MLS data.
