New Orleans Hornets, The no all star team. First half success!!!! - 01/28/08 11:01 PM
There are no All Stars on this team but they have been playing good basketball. Small market teams get less respect from voters. New Orleans defeated Denver tonite 117 to 93. Chris Paul had 23 points and 17 assists. He did much better tonite than Iverson the Denver All Star. I am going to the game tommorow nite so I am into it since I got a great deal on some tickets. Its worth the trip. This guy Chris Paul is a hard worker and a real community kid as are most of the team. Followers of basketball know how many … (9 comments)

New Orleans Water lines start to disappear, Katrina Water Lines - 01/28/08 10:32 PM
Seeing houses with water lines is getting a little harder to do these days in New Orleans. Time tends to make the lines disappear. Thousands have been demolished and thousands have been put back together. The stucco homes still retain the water marks that mark the waterlines following Katrina. The water stood in this neighborhood for several weeks and of course ravaged these homes. You just wonder where the people went and memories that were lost. Louisiana people here have a passion for place and life for many has never been easy. But we have a lot of happy people who enjoy slices of life. … (2 comments)

New Orleans, Mardi Gras season starts early this year? Some trivia? - 01/27/08 07:33 PM
Few cities get to enjoy Carnival Season like New Orleans.  New Orleans hosted the Sugar Bowl, the National Championship game this year, now its Madri Gras, then its the NBA All Star game before getting a break for New Orleans Jazz Fest. They have a great line up this year including Stevie Wonder, Tim Mcgraw, Allison Krauss, Sheryl Crow, Jimmy Buffet, Billy Joel, Santana, Randy Newman, Randy Plant among others. Now for the Trivia?
1. What do Mardi, Lent and Easter have to do with each other.
2. What is a Krewe and the Krewe of Rex is special for what reason.
3. Harry Connick … (5 comments)

Will tax gifts help housing? Giving away money that is borrowed ! - 01/25/08 11:09 PM
The proposed tax rebate will more than likely have little effect on housing. A rebate is something you should get to keep in the first place. The Feds have to borrow the 110 billion to give it away. This gets passed to our kids and us the tax payers in the next couple of years. What will work is a steady interest rates and less government spending on programs that are not working but has plenty of support if you are getting it. Our leaders should be preaching the evil of credit card debt and how to save a little for … (13 comments)

New Orleans Condo and Home Inspector, Matt Piazza gets an A + - 01/22/08 10:19 PM
I like to give a special thanks to one of my home inspectors who does most of my condo inspections. Besides liking Matt as a person and a great dad to his kids, he does an admirable job for me inspecting condos in the New Orleans Market. I use Matt since he is on time all the time, is very flexible with his appointments, e-mails or prints the reports on site. He will call the client if they are out of town to review the report. Doing condos its most repeating certain complexs. Matt knows about most since we have used … (1 comments)

Stock markets are getting ready for something noticiable? - 01/21/08 06:45 PM
The market is going down big tommorow. I wonder where all the money that is sitting on the side is going to go. Will it lower interest rates? Will it make real estate a better investment as not all markets have had a bubble. The Politicians do not have a clue, you cannot spend your way to wealth and jobs. I know it will be some exciting times for those who have not lived through something like Katrina. Hurricane hits market?

The Weekly office Meeting, The meetings are getting old-are they dead? - 01/20/08 06:05 PM
I can only speak for myself but the office meetings are getting old and lack focus. It seems to be a session where the company wants to spend the time selling agents new services or in house vendors. Then again I may be just bored with the meetings and have better things to do. I spend so much time on-line I tend to learn more and learn it quicker. Many time the meetings are grip sessions and that is not me. It may be that after 11 years and hundreds of agents going through the office the meetings need to be … (21 comments)

There are some creative kids out there? You can hire them to help? - 01/19/08 07:32 PM
Ran across this on one of the sites I visit for LSU sports. I am always amazed as to the ideas an things people can come up with. I hired a young high school girl to help me on my websites a couple of years ago and paid her $6 an hour help me catch up with updates and such. It ended up being a bargain as she really causght on fast and did the work fast. Her breaks were spent on u-tube and such. I too learned a lot from her.  These kids can be creative also so I gave her a … (2 comments)

Louisiana News! New Governor the 51st-Bobby Jindal - 01/15/08 10:05 PM
Lousiana politics are certainly a counter trend. A Republican who is the first Indian American to hold a governorship. At 36 years of age he is the youngest of all the govenors. His main push is to make Louisian more business friendly and of course less corrupt. This is a tough task but he could do it. He even hired his chief of staff who did not go to college and was home schooled. This is great since college sometimes takes creativity out of people. The legislature is still democratic as it has been for over a 130 years but they … (5 comments)

Localism, Have not heard much lately on the topic? Anything new? - 01/13/08 12:17 PM
Just wonder if Localism is still in the Beta stage or is something new happened lately. I post over half my blogs to the local market so was just wondering if anything new is on the horizon. The features pop up quickly which is why I post there. I have been getting some reponses so I know its working. Anything new? Are we still on track?

One Metairie Place Condos, Metairie Condos - 01/10/08 10:26 PM
The One Metairie Place Condos are in the center of Metairie near causeway and I-10. The photos of the unit I have below give you an idea of the type of units that are for sale. The 2601 Metairie Lawn Building was the first completed and is the best building in the group. The gated complex with reserved parking remains a popular complex. The Metairie location is about 25 minutes to the New Orleans central business district. The condo fees are paid quarterly and the taxes are low in Jefferson Parish. The taxes if you live here would be about $800 per … (2 comments)

Purple and Gold, LSU Tigers win the National Championship Game 38-24 - 01/07/08 11:43 PM
LSU wakes up after being down 10 points in the first quarter to #1 Ohio State. Something happens and LSU scores 31 straight points over the nations #1 defensive team. Its been a wild season but ends well for the Tiger fans. The first team to have two BCS Championship seasons. Ohio State fans were in full force today in town as it was a local holiday here once noon rolled around. You always here about the SEC speed but that has little to do with these games, its something the media tends to dwell on. The reason the SEC teams tend … (12 comments)

New Orleans getting ready for the Big game, #1 and #2 getting ready - 01/05/08 06:00 PM
LSU and Ohio State fans fill New Orleans city. I was showing condos downtown this afternoon and it was crowded for a Saturday afternoon. Monday is going to be like a holiday for most agents here. New Orleans is really a great place to have a college football game. You can walk everywhere and spend several days having fun. The weather was back in the 70s today. This jacket thing with cold weather could easily get old, back to the golf shirts today. A lot of times its all the things leading up to a big game. Its eating and drinking, taking in the place, the crowds and music … (4 comments)
