The house voted on Tuesday April 28, 2010 to NOT increase the minimum FHA down payment to 5% from 3.5%. This is good news for home buyers who will no longer be getting the $8,000 first time buyer tax credit or the $6,500 tax credit that was given to sellers who sold their home and bought another one.

I speak to several home owner's a week who ask me the difference between a short sale and a foreclosure and which is worse. In the state of Texas you home will be auctioned off on the steps of the county that the property is located in. A foreclosure can reduce your scores by hundreds of points and it can take as long as 7 years and as short as 2 years depending on the circumstances. A short sale is when you fall behind on your payments and you negotiate with the bank to allow you to sell it short of (0 comments)

Does Loan Modification Really Work? - 04/22/10 05:16 PM
Roughly 7 million homeowners are currently behind on their mortgage and many of them are trying to figure what to do with themselves. A lot of borrowers will consider doing loan modifications to try and save their credit and their homes. The question is Does Loan Modification Really Work? Since 2008 according to the Mortgage Metric Reports sixty percent of modifications were in default a year later. A lot of the homeowners who went through the modification either kept the same payment or it even increased! And of course 2/3rds of those borrowers defualted on again on their mortgage.
