Holiday House Tours - Nashua New Hampshire - 11/29/07 11:08 PM
This is a holiday event I don't want to miss.
The Friends of the Nashua symphony are inviting the public to attend the 21st Annual Holiday House Tour.
You can usher in the season by visiting several homes throughout Nashua, New Hampshire that have been professionally decorated for the holidays.  I have been told that the homes will range from a Victorian to a "green" home which has been remodeled.
The Tour will end with complimentary refreshments, holiday music and a gift boutique at Langdon Place.
Some of the decorators for this year's tour are April Colby of Nashua; Marlene Bennett of Nashua; Tout le … (15 comments)

A Dirty Little Secret - 11/25/07 03:58 PM
Dirty little secret  -  RE-GIFTING -- A GREAT IDEA OR TACKY?
A few years ago, I was visiting my family in Oklahoma.  I was excited to see all my nieces, nephews and cousins.
We gathered for the holiday dinner and gift giving.  It was a tradition that each person opened a gift while other family members looked on -- and then another family member would open their gift... and so it went.
My Aunt Judith had a beautifully wrapped gift in front on her.
She carefully removed the ribbon and folded the paper neatly so she could reuse it again.
As she lifted the lid to the … (60 comments)

New Hampshire - Annual Holiday Craft Fair - - 11/24/07 05:19 PM

Forget black Friday                                        I don't know about you, but I don't like large crowds or huge shopping malls.
So, each year I look for the best craft fairs.  One of my favorites is being held tomorrow at the Crowne Plaza Hotel from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Crowne Plaza Hotel is located off #8 in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Several rooms are filled with wonderful crafts made by local artisans.
For the pets, there are also lots of coats, blankets, goodies and organic, home-made treats.
You can find some great tasty treats as well -- homemade cakes, pies, cookies and pastries.
Last year I found beautiful hand blown … (10 comments)

EAT FISH AND SAVE A TURKEY! - 11/19/07 12:04 PM

I HAVE IT -- THIS IS OUR NEW MOTTO for 2007 -- EAT FISH -- SAVE A TURKEY!
  IT'S TIME TO TALK TURKEY!
Thanksgiving is almost here AND volunteers, turkeys and donations are needed.
I was surprised to find out that agencies in my area (Southern New Hampshire) still do not have enough volunteers, turkeys, and donations to supply needy families with a Thanksgiving meal.
I have listed some agencies in the Southern NH Area that you may want to contact.  Even if you don't have the time to volunteer or go turkey hunting (lol), monetary contributions are still needed.

 HIRE A VETERAN TODAY!
I was listening to several tributes to Veterans yesterday and I was saddened to learn that there are so many Veterans that are either unemployed or under-employed.
These men and women are highly trained professionals and the best way we can show our appreciation to those who have served our country is insure that we provide good paying jobs so that these Veterans can fully participate in the American Dream!
Later in the day, as I was flipping through the channels, I came upon a very interesting interview with Dan Caulfield, an Internet Entrepreneur who has developed a national … (20 comments)
