August is New Hampshire Local Food Month. As an important part of New Hampshire Local Food Month, the New Hampshire Food Bank, New Hampshire Department of Agriculture and the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Connection will host the 2010 New Hampshire Grower's Dinner. The New Hampshire Grower's dinner will feature local and sustainable foods prepared by local chefs and restaurants. Proceeds from the 2010 Grower's Dinner will benefit the Food Bank's Recipe for Success program ~ Culinary Training Program, Operation Frontline, and Production Gardens. What's in Season? New Hampshire, the "Live Free or Die" state boasts over 75 farmer's markets throughout the state. I love the idea of buying and eating locally. The fruits and vegetables are fresh and the fragrance of the flowers is delicious.
