Ok- not to put the 'horse before the cart' because I haven't actually closed anything yet...but I just wanted to give another testimony to blogging.
I have obtained 4 clients from blogging in 2mths!!! 1 Relo and the other three are local. How awesome is that? Now this may be nothing to some of you, I mean really, only 4 clients. Some of you actually CLOSE 4 + deals a month. But as a rookie, this is a big deal!
JUST when I was about to say "I do not have time to maintain a blog"..."nor do I have anything to say worth reading.." I decided to just- TALK (type)... post MY interests...photos of houses and architecture, post issues and events that concern ME. MY community. MY city....and what do you know? People are reading! People have many of the same concerns. People have similar interests and passions.
I have my very first open house! YAY me!! Can you imagine my excitement when I was asked to hold an open house for a listing agent to 1) help sell the house and 2) help me obtain leads of potential buyers? How generous!
I was provided with plenty of beautiful fliers to help with advertising and promotion. The fliers are great! Nice quality displaying the homes tasteful decor, and giving off cozy "welcome home" vibes. This is going to be perfect!
Then I view the home. The empty house, with curtains. What a difference furniture makes! The house now feels very cold... abandoned. I'm wondering if I should load up some items from my own house to add or if it would be sufficient to turn on all the lights, light some candles in the bathroom and provide plenty of information with the pictures showing the home furinished.
Maybe it's the "networking" social sites I'm on- but i seem to attract a lot of people who seem to be looking for more than Real Estate, and request to either be added to my "friends list" or "network" with me.
At first I would decline almost anyone NOT in GA, anyone who has a graphic or X-rated profile...but then I got to thinking; could I be declining a potential client/customer? :-(
So I'm having trouble knowing where to draw the line, by adding or denying those profiles who request to be on my 'friends list'- without losing business. Any advice? How do you do it?
