Marcia Brady coming to Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe - 10/22/08 09:53 AM
Marcia, Marcia, Marcia ( Maureen McCormick) is coming to Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe this Friday, October 24th to promote her new autobiography. The child star just might surprise you with details of a not so perfect life of a "pop culture icon." Now 52 years old, Maureen apparently has had some ups and some downs in her life but the "perfect" image still resonates with fans. Changing Hands is located in a really cool shopping center in Tempe at the South/West corner of McClintock and Guadalupe. My family and I often go to this center to visit other places like, Trader Joes, Baskin Robbins, Wildflower Bread (5 comments)
Hey Chase... "Really?!" - 10/22/08 09:51 AM
For a while, I have been thinking of doing a new series on my "Just Call Nick!" blog called "Really?!." You may have seen the SNL skits where they poke fun at stupid stuff... "Really?!" - Well, I tend to see, hear or come in contact with some pretty interesting stuff in my real estate business and in life in general. So, I'm going to start writing a few of em' down. The first example happened on a recent weekend when we successfully negotiated a cash sale on a really nice home in the east valley. As part of the contract, we agree (4 comments)
Light Rail and Roller Coasters - 10/21/08 11:59 PM
Watching the stock market has been quite the roller coaster ride recently. In fact, Magic Mountain ain't got nothin' on this ride. I am reminded of a meeting I had a few weeks ago where I was able to speak with Andrew Waite of Personal Real Estate Investor Magazine. One of the interesting things we discussed is the amount of money being poured into "Self Directed IRA's." These are vehicles that allow people to purchase real estate instead of staying invested in the stock market. Mr. Waited gave me an example that was very interesting, he told me that they are (0 comments)

Camelot Village Neighbors have a lot to G.A.I.N - 10/06/08 01:07 AM
Tempe has a ton of wonderful and diverse communities. From horse property to ultra luxury urban communities and just about everything in between. Saturday, October 18th is "G.A.I.N" night which stands for Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods and is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness in neighborhoods. Lori and I will once again be joining several of our neighbors in participating in this fun event with our kids at Stroud Park in Tempe. The Camelot Village Neighborhood Association is involved and they describe the night as a partnership effort between the Tempe Police Department and Neighborhood Watch Programs, Neighborhood Associations and (5 comments)
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! - 10/03/08 12:48 AM
For the month of October, we have gone PINK in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. This is a great opportunity to tell our friends about FREE mammograms. For many years, I have sponsored teams for the "Climb to Conquer Cancer" as it is a cause very near and dear to my heart. There are many other great ways to get involved in helping raise money and awareness. In fact, a friend of ours is helping with a "Relay for Life" event this month. Take a look! You should also know that the Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people (8 comments)
