phoenix light rail: Lofts along the line… - 09/20/10 01:50 AM
Lofts located near the light rail line in Phoenix and Tempe are a way to get more of an “urban” feel than your traditional tile and stucco job found in most of our outlying cities. This week, I visited two different loft communities that I think are pretty cool. The first place we stopped was the Lofts at Orchidhouse in Tempe which are located at 21 East 6th Street just East of Mill Avenue in the heart of the ultra-cool Mill Avenue District. For urban enthusiasts, this beautiful building and it’s loft style condominiums are a great fit. Just a

phoenix light rail: Google Transit Coming Soon to Phoenix Market - 02/27/10 09:00 AM
So, who says the “big guys” don’t listen to bloggers? In the past, I have been asked by several people why Google Transit is not currently available in the Phoenix market. I have written about the subject and a few months ago, I wrote about our friends at Walk Score hopefully being able to add transit data to the Walk Score database in our market. That’s cool stuff! Yesterday, I was sent the following information from Valley Metro RPTA to post on my blog so that we could tell people about the progress being made to actually bring all of the

phoenix light rail: Willo Historic Homes For Sale - 01/14/10 10:59 AM
The Willo Historic District is a truly magnificent historic neighborhood. As one of Phoenix's most beautiful historic neighborhoods, Willo is located just west of Central Avenue between Thomas and McDowell Roads from 1st to 7th Avenues. The fact that there are three light rail stops near Willow add another unique benefit to this great location. Having stations at McDowell, Encanto and at Thomas/Central Avenue allow Willo residents to easily take advantage of all of the great restaurants, shops, arts districts, sporting activities, employment centers, etc along the light rail line. This truly is old world charm meets modern conveniences. Willo

phoenix light rail: Phoenix Light Rail Riders joining forces for Night Rail - 07/31/09 01:26 PM
Recently, the Metro Light Rail board of directors voted to extend the weekend hours of light rail in Arizona on Friday and Saturday nights. This extension allows Phoenix light Rail riders to ride until after 2am on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Given the fact that the extension is said to be implemented on a "trial period" of one year, a group of people have decided to help with an awareness campaign for the newly appointed hours. Enter "Night Rail" which is being held tonight, 7/31! From the Rail Life blog we see that... "If you are a fan of the extended

phoenix light rail: Phoenix Suns having a TweetUp! - 12/17/08 10:52 PM
The Phoenix Sun's are having a tweetup! How cool is that?!?! If I remember correctly, they said they are the first NBA team to do an event like this. Many people still don't have a clue as to what Twitter even means. With media outlets and sports teams jumping on the bandwagon, it probably won't be too long until we quit getting the funny looks when we talk about Twitter. Before the game, Rail Life will do a pre-game tweetup before the real fun starts. I hope you can join us! People can purchase tickets from the Sun's TweetUp page on

phoenix light rail: Phoenix Light Rail a good fit for Phoenix Convention Center - 02/26/08 10:25 AM
Interestingly enough, the Phoenix Convention Center is expected to be complete in December 2008. The last of the construction, the "North Building", will open to conventions in January 2009. It just so happens that our Light Rail system that will connect Phoenix to Tempe and Mesa is scheduled to begin carrying passengers in December of 2008. Sounds like some pretty good timing for both as they will surely compliment each other. The following picture looks at the new Light Rail stop at Washington and 3rd St which is right next to the 2 new buildings called the West Building and the North Building.
