housing update: Latest Unemployment Drop May Boost Housing - 03/07/16 09:48 PM
The economy is adding jobs, and that likely will bode well with the real estate market in the coming months as consumers feel more confident about their earnings, economists say.  With 242,000 jobs added to the U.S. economy in February, the unemployment rate is now at 4.9 percent, as outlined by new data released by the Bureau of Labor statistics. The unemployment level is now at the lowest point since May 2008. See more here

About 18 percent of the largest 360 metro areas in the country have returned to or exceeded their last normal levels of economic and housing activity in the first quarter, according to the National Association of Home Builders/First American Leading Markets Index.   Helped by a booming demand for bank-owned properties, the Tampa Bay area was among the most robust in Florida in November.
