Have you heard of the Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell ? I am over half way through it and can't put it down. It is in a way a road map to getting your own Tipping point in whatever you do in your life whether it be work related or a social justice issue and truly being able to share that with the world and make a small difference like better a neighborhood or street by connecting with the people and finding what changes will stick and make that environment better. It really has opened my mind to start really observing people and their actions and reactions to find out what on a social level makes them tick and how to better communicate and connect with friends, family and clients on a daily basis. It is funny how I heard about this book. I was able to be part of a teleconference with the chief Economist of CAR and she was speaking about the changes in buyers over the last five years since the internet has become a huge part of the intial connection between the client and the agent. Also, she was addressing the current markets of the regions of California and how that will also change the way we do business and get business. After she was done with her excellent presentation, she had a list of recommended reading and this was on it. So I keep thinking about this book and I never get over to the bookstore much less the library. Finally about 2 weeks ago I was in Berkeley with a my best friend who was leaving for Nicaragua to dedicate the next 2 1/2 years to the PEACE CORP( talk about make a positive change for others). We were checking in every bookstore on College looking for books on Nicaragua. Every store I went into had a display of this book right when you walked in the down. So by the 4th store I broke down and bought it, I figured it must be a sign. All I have to say is that Malcolm obviously did his job of creating a book with a high stickiness factor and power of context.
