REMEMBERING, REFLECTING, HONORING AND MOURNING THE FALLEN ON SEPTEMBER 11TH

"Time is passing. Yet for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children."
... George W Bush

It's been 22 years since that horrific day on September 11th, 2001. Even after 22 years I still remember how that day as if it was yesterday. September 11th, 2001 is a day that fundamentally changed all of our … (32 comments)

9-11-2001 A DAY TO NEVER FORGET

"The attacks of September 11th were intended to break our spirit. Instead we have emerged stronger and more unified. We feel renewed devotion to the principles of political, economic and religious freedom, the rule of law and respect for human life. We are more determined than ever to live our lives in freedom.”

Today, we mark the 21st anniversary of the devastating events of September 11, 2001. Certain events in life become forever embedded in our hearts and souls.  The heinous attack on our nation (and my own hometown of New York City) on September … (54 comments)

september 11 2001: In Remembrance 9-11-2001: Reflections - 09/10/21 02:34 PM

IN REMEMBRANCE OF 9-11-2021
Today we mark the 20th anniversary of the devastating events of September 11, 2001. Certain events in life are cataclysmic and become forever embedded in our hearts and souls. No doubt the attack on our nation on September 11, 2001 is such an event. Those of us who were old enough to understand the events of that day will never forget that day. Probably, most of us remember exactly where we were and what we were doing when we heard the terrible news. I know that I do. The events and horror of that awful day are as … (36 comments)

September 11, 2001: Let Us Never Forget Those Who Sacrificed

19 years have passed since that horrific day on September 11th, 2001. Even after 19 years it always stuns me that I can still remember that day as if it was yesterday and not almost two decades ago. September 11th, 2001 is a day that fundamentally changed all of our livesEven though on 9/11 we knew our lives had changed, most likely forever, on that day we did not yet comprehend how much they would change. And many of those changes became the "new normal" for us. 9/11 is the Pearl Harbor of our generation.

september 11 2001: How Charlotte, NC Paid Tribute To 9/11 Victims And First Responders - 09/12/19 04:07 AM

9/11 Flags of Remembrance Memorial at Romare Bearden Park in Charlotte.

Charlotte's 9/11 Memorial on display at Romare Bearden park paid tribute to all who lost their lives on that awful day -- both those who perished in the attack on the Twin Towers and the heroic first responders who bravely sacrificed their own lives to save them.
For the past 13 years, tireless volunteers with the F.F. Steven Coakley Foundation have spent countless hours setting up this 9/11 Memorial in Romare Beadren Park in Charlotte to honor the victims of the terrorists attack on the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers on 9/11 by … (36 comments)

Remembering September 11, 2001: Let Us Never Forget

18 years have passed since that horrific day on September 11th, 2001 -- and even after 18 years I can still remember how that day as if it was yesterday. September 11th, 2001 is a day that fundamentally changed all of our lives. And although on 9/11 we knew our lives had changed most likely forever, we at that time didn't yet really know how much they would change. And many of those changes have become the "new normal" for us. And I've found that even thought it's been 18 years, in some ways when this day comes … (28 comments)

september 11 2001: It's The 16th Anniversary Of 9/11 And We Must Never Forget! - 09/10/17 04:28 AM

For me it's still hard to believe that 16 years have passed since that horrific day on September 11th, 2001. This was a day that fundamentally changed all of our lives. And although on 9/11 we knew our lives had changed probably forever, we at that time really didn't yet really know how much they would change.

The memories of one of the darkest days in American history are today so crystal clear in my mind's eye. It still seems like yesterday that we were witnessing the events of September 11, 2001 unfold.  I still remember the first shock, I still remember the … (73 comments)

september 11 2001: 15 Years After The 9/11 Attacks... We Must Never Forget - 09/10/16 09:35 PM
Amazing to think that 15 years have passed since that horrific day on September 11th, 2001 that changed all of our lives. In many ways, the memories of one of the darkest days in American history are still so crystal clear in my mind's eye. It seems like only yesterday we were witnessing the events of September 11, 2001 unfold. Yet here we are, 15 years later, marking the anniversary of that tragic day.  No doubt that one day 9/11 will become "ancient" history to future generations (already some 20% of Americans have no memory of that day). But so long as those … (45 comments)
