It's pretty much a no-brainer that eating local and organic food is best for one's physical health.
 
It's also a no-brainer that being involved with congenial friends in a tight-knit community is healthiest for one's emotional health.
 
Enter the "Community Garden."
Not all of us live out in the country with abundant land for a huge vegetable garden, nor are we all equipped with the knowledge of organic farming methods, or the time and inclination to spend loads of time alone with just nature for company.

A couple of decisions recently made by the Valencia County Commission have local New Mexico residents hopping mad, and several local associations are fighting back against these elected officials who seem to be bent on going against the will of their constituents on local issues.

This "infill" concept is becoming popular in many areas, in contrast to the previous, continual "urban sprawl" development style. A new development by the Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership is building great new homes in a starter price range in one of Albuquerque's most historic neighborhoods: Barelas! This new develpment was recently profiled in the Albuquerque Journal.
