We received an email inquiry yesterday from a homeowner facing foreclosure. He was approached by an investor offering to buy his home for well below market value and negotiate his short sale for him. Because the sale date was approaching quickly, he insisted on an immediate response. Do not act from a position of fear. There are a lot of scams out - please be very careful. These investors most definitely do not have your best interests at heart. They do not care about your tax consequences, your financial position or your personal liability from deficiency judgments. How to buy a short sale - 03/15/10 03:51 PM
Have you been looking at homes and avoiding short sales? Or perhaps, you've pursued a short sale, only to get beat out by another buyer's offer? Or maybe, your offer was submitted and for some reason the short sale did not get approved or the seller backed out? We had a seller declare bankruptcy a day before we were supposed to close last year and stop the short sale. That may have been a good decision for the seller, but I'm sure you can imagine the frustration and monetary loss to the buyer. Any way you dice it, the current process (0 comments)
Daylight Savings Day - A Good Use - 03/14/10 12:35 PM
I'm not a big fan of daylight savings time. It's one thing I miss about living in Arizona when I was a kid - no daylight savings time. My internal clock just has a tough time with the adjustment. However, like many things that annoy us, there is a good use. Since it happens twice a year, it's a great day to develop the habit of changing smoke alarm batteries and air filters. That's my quick tip for this 23 hour day. Make it great one!
