I see it every day. A home is put on the MLS with too much furniture, the wrong paint colors, no curb appeal, etc. The home sits and sits as the Days On Market count up. No calls, no showings, no offers. The seller asks the Realtor why. The Realtor responds with "it must be priced too high....let's lower the price by $10,000 & see if we get any action. Realtor's who have a stager on their team know that a staged home sells faster, and for more money than one that is not. A professional stager will come in to your home before it is put on the market and give you a list of what things need to be done to get you the most return on investment. Sellers have to realize that they are selling a product and buyers have many choices these days. You have to put some money into your home to make it better than the competition and get the buyers in the door. That's when you will get offers. You can'tsell the space if buyers can not see the space. You lived in your home and spent time personalizing it. As nice as it may be. It may not be what buyers want. My job is to know what buyers want. I will help you prepare your home so that it appeals to the majority of buyers. That insures you will get more offers. If you get multiple offers, you can sell at a higher price. Most staging costs far less than your first price reduction. When you consider the costs of holding a property for months on end, staging saves you money. Do yourself a favor and have a professional help you prepare your home before you waste that valuable market time.
