The initial home buyer tax credit deadline is April 30th.
Does that mean you have to have closed a home purchase by April 30th? No. What it means is that you have to have a signed, mutually agreed upon contract to purchase a home by April 30th and the home sale transaction must close by June 30th in order to qualify for the tax credit.
Does this mean you have time to wait? No. If you are thinking of buying a home you should be shopping now. It takes time to find the right home and it can often take time to negotiate … (4 comments)
