A while back I posted a blog requesting suggestions for downpayment assistance programs other than FHA programs. I got a couple of responses, but not many. Now FHA is discontinuing it's down-payment assistance programs like Ameridream! What's a struggling first-time buyer to do? How are the rest of you taking this (13 comments)

I love working with first time buyers, but frequently these folks have problems getting qualified for a loan, especially in light of today's tight lending guidelines. I recently met a young woman who is currently on government housing assistance--she lives in a rented unit--but evidently she pays the majority of her rent (5 comments)

Today I received my subscription email from REBAC (Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council) which contained a link to an article outlining FHA's new plan to help some of the borrowers who are flirting with foreclosure due to a reset on their ARM. The plan is called FHASecure, and it won't help (0 comments)
