How green is your home? That's a question not heard very often, but might be in the not too distant future. There are some inspectors offering Green building certification inspections (myself one of them very soon) and I dare say that real estate listing agents will soon be using this to further market the qualities of a house when listing it.

Not that it's a new idea- energy efficiency is on almost all of our minds and even more so when we are looking for ways to reduce our energy consumption and ultimately costs. (I remember my mom would keep the thermostat at a chilly 18C and tell us to "put a sweater on" if we complained)

These days the term "Green" can mean many things, from recycling to self sufficiency from the power grid. So, how green IS your home? Here is a link to a page on my website. Click on the picture of the house and fill out the 20 question on-line form that will rate your home and maybe show you areas that could be improved for the environment and your wallets. Your results will be emailed to you- No spam, I promise!
