norma toering team happy clients: My Gutsy Real Estate Task for Today - 06/05/11 04:43 AM
When I was in high school I hated typing class.  Oh, I was pretty good at it--made 60 words per minute in the timed tests (and that was with the old manual carriage return after each typed line).  I decided at the tender age of sixteen I did not want to spend my life typing--too repetitive and confining for me.  A seated secretary was not the job for me.  Hello, and welcome to the information age!  I now spend many hours per day typing.  I'll have those youthful words of mine warmed and served with a bit of sauce, please.

norma toering team happy clients: Pay It Forward--A Rest and Renewal Day - 05/29/11 02:45 AM
Last week was a demanding week to say the least.  New listings, offers to negotiate, buyers in town--all the usual real estate stuff, just more of it.  Most days started at 5am and ended after 10pm.  Lots of good stuff happening but after a full week of long days and short nights this agent actually took the day off yesterday, indulged in a spa treatment, took a nap and went to bed before 10pm.  How very decadent of me!

I saw the opening in my schedule and took full advantage of it.  Today, there is an open house … (6 comments)

norma toering team happy clients: Let Them Eat Cake--Pay It Forward - 05/21/11 03:11 AM
"Let them eat cake."  Marie Antoinette's idea was not a great solution to the French bread shortage but it was a fabulous idea for a "just married" couple prior to signing a counter offer in my office last week.

I must admit the girl at the bakery was taken aback when I told her I needed a wedding cake to go--now!  There was no time to give the week notice they require or to be too picky.  "That one in the window will do," I said with a smile.  "But let's add a white dove and some silver wedding rings."

norma toering team happy clients: What Does "Have a Nice Weekend" Mean to a Real Estate Agent? - 05/06/11 10:25 AM
It's Friday, and several casual acquaintances have already wished me "have a nice weekend" and caused me to ponder what a nice weekend means to real estate professionals.  My calendar is often jammed with showing appointments and open house events on Saturday and Sunday.  My work week rhythm moves to a different beat than the usual Monday through Friday 8 to 5 grind.

This weekend, although it is Mother's Day, is no exception.  A Saturday morning showing is on the calendar and Saturday afternoon showings are penciled in and waiting for confirmation.  Sunday morning will be reserved for family but by … (18 comments)

norma toering team happy clients: Some Days You Just Have to Play - 03/23/11 12:59 PM
Some days you just have to play.  Today was one of those days.
A client invited me to Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes for lunch, and we had so much news to share two hours flew past.

I arrived back at the office to find the long awaited closing gift from our client arrived.  I'm holding it in the photo.  Norma Toering & Team has the best clients!  This wonderful client found my ActiveRain blog by way of Google Juice.

Another two hours of play and the work day was almost over, but what fun it was!  With … (12 comments)

norma toering team happy clients: Norma Toering & Team Closed Another Escrow in Redondo Beach - 03/12/11 07:21 AM
About 18 months ago a prospective buyer called and asked to meet with me at my office.  I like a buyer that takes the initiative!  During our first meeting he told me he Googled "Rancho Palos Verdes Buyers Agent" and my name popped up.  He read a few of my blogs and to make a long story short, Friday we closed escrow on a Hollywood Riviera house in Redondo Beach.

This buyer's story did not follow a straight line from meeting to close--few do.  There was an REO offer that did not work out.  There was a multiple offer situation but another … (10 comments)
