Yorktown High School in Arlington, VA - Varsity Softball Team New Assistant Coach! - 11/22/08 02:53 PM
As we get ready to head into the season of Thanks, I find myself very excited for the future. I've just agreed to be an assistant coach for the Varsity Softball team at Yorktown High School in Arlington.
Yorktown is located on N 28th St in Arlington. It's one of the 3 public high schools in Arlington (along with Washington-Lee and Wakefield), and competes in the Virginia High School League.
Wish me luck in my coaching debut, and the team for their upcoming 2009 season!

My First Successful ActiveRain Referral! - 11/21/08 03:55 PM
I'm so happy to finally be able to write this post: Yesterday I closed my first client generated from ActiveRain!! :)

A fellow Keller Williams agent from Arizona found my blog about my car buying experience, and what I learned from it...when she called, she said: "I just read your blog, and I think you sound great!" Music to my ears!
I spent 6 weeks or so trying to find this couple a house before we finally found the perfect townhouse in Falls Church.
Congratulations to my clients on their first home in Virginia, and Thank You ActiveRain!

Arlington's New Restaurant - Yaku - 11/17/08 10:36 AM
Last night I had the privilege of trying the newest Peruvian-Chinese restaurant in Arlington - Yaku. Yaku is located on the 1st floor of The Odyssey Condo building, on the corner of Clarendon Blvd and Scott St in Courthouse. The decorations and design of the restaurant were very contemporary - I loved it! And the food wasn't bad either...
I brought 2 people along with me so we could try a variety from the menu - they have hot and cold appetizers, a Dim Sum menu, soups/salads, entrees, desserts, and "Rolls" (much like sushi).
I highly recommend the Mahi-Mahi Tempura (a … (1 comments)

A Weekend OFF?? What Do I Do Now? - 11/10/08 12:55 PM
For the first time since my real estate career started in February, I had an ENTIRE weekend off. Yep, you heard me, Saturday AND Sunday. You know what that means don't you - I had no opportunities to make any money this weekend.
I was scheduled to work an open house on Sunday, but sadly got fired when the listing agent realized he double-booked it (and originally promised it to a newer agent)!

So here I sat, at home, with NO plans and NO To-Do list! Just me, idle time, and 2 days to kill. I realized this weekend that … (2 comments)

How Will the President-Elect Change the Washington DC Real Estate Market? - 11/08/08 07:41 PM
In short - very little.
It's funny that the Washington Post featured an article todaydiscussing administration changes and their effects on the D.C. and Northern VA real estate markets. I had lunch today with one of my best friends who happens to work in the West Wing - just like her, many of her fellow West Wing-ers will be out of a job as of January 20th. So inevitably I asked, "so...who's helping the big guys transition to the area?"
Her response - "most of them already live here. And the ones that are out of a job in January will … (1 comments)
