You and Your Cell Phone - 05/29/10 02:16 PM
I'm working today, I am actually manning the office.  It is a holiday weekend and I can see out the door and windows of the office and there is a lot of foot traffic in my village and I am pretty sure I am the only person in a three mile radius with socks on.  That might be why I am whining about cell phones.
I had a call on the answering machine this morning and it was from an agent asking about the availability of a property.  I called back and her phone rang once and then really loud music … (4 comments)

New York City on a Holiday - 05/29/10 11:15 AM
The best time to visit New York City is on a holiday weekend.  This holiday is actually a great time because all the natives are heading out of Dodge.  Don't get me wrong it is never empty, but you can actually roam around with a little less traffic, you might even get a parking spot.  I live just outside of the City and this is my favorite time to go in.

Remembering Our Hero's and What This Weekend is Really About - 05/25/10 10:25 AM
We almost never close the office but Memorial Day is a different story.  We don't close up because we want to have a picnic or go to the beautiful beaches of Long Island.  We close on Memorial Day because it is important to remember the men and woman who served to secure a a future for America.
I have all my agents bring in pictures of family members who have served this country and we put the pictures in the front window of the office.  I am fortunate enough to have my office in the center of a large village just … (6 comments)

If You Are in The Hospital and with a Broken Leg - 05/24/10 03:36 PM
If you are in the hospital with a broken leg and the man in the next bed has had his leg amputated, does your leg still hurt?  I use this saying all the time, I have no idea where I got it but I use it all the time.  Yes your leg still hurts but if you have a functioning mind you have this hurt in the proper perspective.
Yesterday my granddaughter who is 2 broke her collar bone, she is a crazy child and fell off the big bed (like in the three bears).  I was upset and riding over … (3 comments)

Great Clients - 05/23/10 03:20 PM
I sometimes have really great clients.  I feel like I need to talk more about the positive aspects of being a Broker and shine a spotlight on the sometimes great and easy to work with clients.  Believe me I have some tough ones, but just for today we will focus on the wonderful ones.
This couple will be closing on their home of twenty something years in two days and all through a very difficult selling process they were always pleasant, cooperative and just plain nice.  We had a portrait of their home done and framed so they can take it … (6 comments)

Hidden Treasures in AR - 05/13/10 09:53 AM
When I sign on to AR I feel like I am going on a treasure hunt.  I open up and decide should I go directly to "my groups" I like hanging out with the in crowd or should I be adventurous and just jump to blogs in general.  Decisions, decisions what is a woman to do.  Honestly either path will take me on an adventure and the treasure hunt is on.  I am rarely disappointed, I have found gems in the oddest places.  Little diamonds I need to read, gold coins I can use to motivate my agents and mostly motivate … (4 comments)

Real Estate vs. Baseball and the Winner Is? - 05/06/10 01:45 PM
I I am a baseball fan, I grew up in the Bronx and I just love baseball.  I love to go to a game and sit in the sun and just listen to the crack of the bat and the cheers and the jeers of the fans.  I know you all know who I root for but I really like most teams and just enjoy the sport.
Now the big news and I mean this is big news, get ready for the rush of phone calls and Internet inquiries.  I heard on tv yesterday that "searching for homes on line is rapidly … (6 comments)

PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN - 05/03/10 03:24 PM
A few days ago when I signed on to AR there was a curtain.  It told me to go away until the workings behind the curtain were done.  It was a long time and I was anxious to get to the Emerald City of tons of points but I busied myself with other things.  Well hopefully the wizard  or the man behind the curtain has it all fixed up and I can finally get a brain.
