business: PUSH yourself everyday. - 02/20/09 05:18 PM
Do you just exist or are you pushing yourself to succeed and achieve? Everyone at some time in their life feels like they are just existing or in other words they're in a rut. At times this can be comfortable and cozy but, is it really what you need? I know if everything is comfortable and cozy I am in trouble. My late father used to say "do something, even if you do it wrong". I generally live by the axiom that if it feels good and goes according to plan it's against company policy. Nobody ever got off the couch … (1 comments)

business: You are the most important tool you have!! - 02/20/09 05:16 PM
What is the most important tool in your business? You might think it's your listing presentation or even your data base of customers. Both are right up there in terms of importance but they fall just a bit short of the most important. By now I hope you have figured it out but if not I will tell you. IT'S YOU!!! That's right it is you. I write and say this a lot but I can't stress enough how important "you" are to your success. All the systems and marketing won't do a thing without a motivated, driven leader. One of … (1 comments)

business: Succeed Right now! - 02/20/09 05:14 PM
Everyone has heard the expression "today is the first day of the rest of your life". We have all heard it time and time again and yet have any of us actually lived like it truly was the first day of the rest of our life. What are you doing today, right now; this second to ensure you will succeed the rest of your life? Ok you got me a little, I mean besides reading this. Are you helping with your son's or daughter's little league practice. Maybe you have a great book to read that will motivate you or even … (1 comments)

business: Lets Focus. - 02/20/09 05:12 PM
I hope everyone remembers the deodorant commercial that said "never let them see you sweat". I personally loved it. In Real Estate you deal with more personalities than you could ever imagine or invent in your mind. Other agents are constantly trying to test you or get you out of your comfort zone, or in other words "make you sweat".  But your sole focus should always be on your customer, not the ego on the other side of the table. It always amazes me that a large majority of REALTORS take personally negotiations. Don't forget you work for the customer and … (1 comments)

business: Be in the right place. Right Now! - 02/16/09 12:05 PM
I had an interesting call last week. It was a REALTOR in a market that has had a dramatic "shift" and according to this individual was off by almost 40%. Short Sales and Foreclosures dominate the market and the attitude of the asset managers had gotten this guy down to the point, which I think he might have been looking for a bridge to do a Tinkerbelle off of. Before I go on, let me tell you he is OK and will be great very soon. So don't worry. A thirty minute call turned into two 1 hour plus calls. … (2 comments)

business: Change now and have a great 2009. - 02/13/09 06:31 PM
Yes 2008 was an off year, but have you stopped to wonder, why some of our businesses grew and others in the same market didn't or failed altogether. I here it everyday, that so and so got a good break or that agent got lucky.
Well folks here is my definition of lucky breaks or good luck:
"LUCK IS WHERE HARD WORK AND PREPARATION COLLIDE!"
There's an old saying that goes "the harder I work, the luckier I get." The ones that grew adapted. The ones that didn't stayed home and waited. You wait, you lose. It's that simple.
A good example of this … (3 comments)

business: Dead man walking, part 2 - 02/13/09 06:08 PM
I posted this Christmas and I thought it would be a good repost for Valentines.

Well folks ,some folks you just can't help but laugh at. I saw a very old friend in Target the other day and we got to visiting about the holidays a bit. It was then, he said he was there to get a gift for his wife. I said great, whats on the menu. He said he was getting her a vacuum cleaner! Now folks. I know his wife and this is the worst idea since buying Enron stock, trust me! I said are … (2 comments)

business: I will make today my day! Join Me. - 02/13/09 05:48 PM
Today is your day. I promise! Everyday is an opportunity made or lost. Never lose one ever again. Put on your favorite outfit and listen to your favorite CD this morning. Be ready to sell something right this minute and every minute thru out the whole day today. You've been waiting to put some leads in that email account and send them a short note introducing yourself, well today you're going to do it before lunch. When you finish that, write ten hand written notes to old friends about anything but Real Estate. Then before you mail them drop in a … (0 comments)

business: Get up Happy and have a great day! - 02/13/09 04:51 PM
I have a question for you. How do you wake up every morning? Are you a grouch? Or, are you happy and ready for a great day? You do know you have a choice, don't you? I choose to get up and welcome the day and you should to.  You can do more business before 10:00 AM than you realize.  So make a positive choice and you will beat the competition every time. If you make a positive choice every chance you get during the day you will continually beat the competition month in and month out.
 Always remember

business: Quotes for the week. - 02/12/09 10:02 PM
If you have an hour, will you not improve that hour, instead of idling it away?                                                                              Lord Chesterfield

Imagine every day to be the last of a life surrounded with hopes, cares, anger, and fear. The hours that come unexpectedly will be so much more the grateful.Horace

It requires less character to discover the faults of others, than to tolerate them.J. Petit Senn

business: Never, Never, give up! - 02/12/09 06:19 PM
During the course of one of my very first training sessions we had a very nice lady who was new to the Real Estate business. After talking to her for a few minutes I began to realize that this was probably the most timid person I had ever met in my life. As most of you know I am a raging fool when I train. I love energy and I bounce all over the room and tell jokes and interact with everyone. But with this nice lady, I got nothing, zip, nada. Man, did ever feel like I let her down. … (1 comments)

business: If you don't mind. It won't matter! - 02/11/09 09:46 PM
It's all about mind over matter.  If you don't mind, dose it really matter! Ok, turn off the TV and quit listening to the media and lets all proceed to do what we do best. That is, to be the best we can be, in the best country in the world. If you're like me, you are tired and frustrated with all the negative that passes for news these days. Well I have decided that I will not participate in the tearing apart of this great country I call home. I am going to go out and build on the opportunity … (3 comments)

business: You can do it and this will help you start. - 02/09/09 06:33 PM

We work the same way every day and our customers know we are always available when they need us. We don't have any posted hours. If you want to do business with us we are available. We set goals and objectives and we achieve them by any means necessary. No excuses, just results. If someone cannot or will not produce, they don't last. We know that the going will get tough from time to time, but that's when a real superstar will shine. Be realistic about your goals and business plans and then achieve and accomplish them. Yes there … (7 comments)

business: A story about great service. - 02/09/09 06:21 PM
Good morning. One thing a lot of business owners forget about is customer service. Today I would like to share with everyone something that happened to me several years ago when I lived in Fort Worth, Texas. Today I only carry Samsonite luggage and it all stems from the service I got from a young woman in the Denver service center. You see for years I carried a gray fold out type garment bag all over the world. I could literally pack everything I needed in that bag and a briefcase and take off. Well after 8 years or so it … (3 comments)

business: Get more Deals to close this year!!! - 02/09/09 05:56 PM
Do you get bogged down in details? How many times does a deal drag on and on and close late? Does it seem like no one has a sense of urgency or a work ethic that gets things done? Sound all too familiar? Well guess what? It's your fault! That's right; no one is to blame but you. You may say the lender or the title company was at fault. Seems like someone is always dropping the ball, right? Well, how accountable did you hold them? That's right not your customer or the agent on the other side of the deal. … (0 comments)

business: Recharge Yourself! - 02/05/09 04:31 PM
Have you done anything for yourself recently that made you feel better? If so, good for you!  If not, then why? Every day you should give something to your health or the fun side of your personality. We all have vices and excuses why we can't but did you ever think that we could make an excuse for "why" you can do something? If you don't change the oil or maintain your car what would happen to it? That's right it wouldn't last very long. So how can the #1 tool ("you") in your business last if you don't maintain it? … (8 comments)

business: I have made my Choice, will you join me? - 02/04/09 08:31 PM

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. John Quincy Adams
Did you know you have a choice every morning? You and only you can decide the mood or attitude you will have that day. Remarkable isn't it? I don't care if the kids are fighting or if your loving spouse left a towel on the bathroom floor. It's your choice to either laugh about it or blow a gasket. If I could give a small piece of advice, choose to laugh it off and be playful with the … (8 comments)

business: NO FEAR! - 02/03/09 05:47 PM
What are you afraid of? Can I tell you a secret? We all have fears and phobias in life. As young babies we have no fear.  Everyone looks out for us and says; "don't or that will hurt", so you develop fears and worst of all hesitation. I have always tried to conquer anything I am afraid of. One thing I have witnessed and admired in all successful business people is the fact that fear of failure never enters their mind. They simply do not process fear in a way that most people do. Most successful people think like that young child … (3 comments)

business: Be the Best you can be. Everyday!! - 02/03/09 05:35 PM
The fact is, that to do anything in the world worth doing, we must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and danger, but jump in and scramble through as well as we can.                                                                                                ~Robert Cushing
Let us strive to improve ourselves, for we cannot remain stationary; one either progresses or retrogrades.                                                                                             ~Mme. Du Deffand

One of the first things I usually say at the start of a motivational talk is "winners and losers are predetermined but only the winner knows it"!  I say this because I believe it with all my heart. A winner jumps into a … (0 comments)
