tyler texas homes: Not good - 11/16/09 12:37 PM
According to the latest numbers from the Treasury Department, JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs are holding the bag on 60 percent of the world's derivatives - an astonishing $120 trillion between them, Still reports.
According to Treasury figures at the end of June, J P Morgan held a staggering $80 trillion in derivative exposure, 50 times more than its $1.6 trillion in assets. Goldman Sachs is in an even more precarious condition. It holds $40 trillion in derivatives backed by assets of only $120 billion - a leverage of 333-to-1.
"To put this into perspective," said Still, "The Gross Domestic Product of … (13 comments)

The new KW Tyler Building. We are investing in our community in a big way and are looking forward to the move in late December. The agents have really stepped it up and are selling and listing at a record pace. The new year will bring growth and prosperity to East Texas and we will be leading the way. We are growing while others are pulling back.

tyler texas homes: Fun at Barton Creek in Austin......with KW - 11/11/09 08:25 AM

Althea Osborn and myself. Mrs. Osborn is the #1 profit share recipient at Keller Williams and the nicest lady you would ever want to meet. We had a 60's theme party and she nailed it.

The Auction part of the evening was a riot. Fun was had by all.

Never under estimate the heavy guy with a bet on the line. :) Golf was a blast and deer were every where. If you get a chance to play Barton Creek in Austin Texas do it. It is a great experience.

tyler texas homes: Low Tax states grow... Well duh! - 11/08/09 06:06 AM

The biggest contrast between the two states shows up in "net internal migration," the demographer's term for the difference between the number of Americans who move into a state from another and the number who move out of it to another. Between April 1, 2000, and June 30, 2007, an average of 3,247 more Americans moved out of California than into it every week, according to the Census Bureau. Over the same period, Texas saw a net gain, in an average week, of 1,544 people. Aside from Louisiana and Mississippi, which lost population to other states because of Hurricane Katrina, … (11 comments)

tyler texas homes: Golf again. - 11/08/09 02:20 AM

The wife and I played golf yesterday again. I don't know if there is a better time to play than in the fall. The colors and the temperature make it all just perfect. I tried out a new putter and it worked great. Shot 76 in spite of the fact I felt unsettled over the ball all day. But what the heck, it was a blast. I hope everyone gets out and enjoys this time of year. Anything outdoors right now seems gret and rewarding. Just walking the dogs is fun. Headed for Barton Creek on Monday in Austin, I … (7 comments)

tyler texas homes: We need to get this corrected.... - 11/07/09 01:03 PM
The one domestic automaker that has paid its own freight could end up penalized for its success, while the government indefinitely subsidizes competitors that would have died without government aid. Without the GM and Chrysler bailouts, there would be a vast surplus of unemployed autoworkers. But since the government saved thousands of jobs, the unions have more bargaining power, which they seem poised to use against a company that has stayed off the federal dole.
But the domestic auto industry is still a mess, and the huge subsidies at Chrysler and GM could inhibit an overall return to profitability rather than … (5 comments)

tyler texas homes: No grandstanding or photo opps, just love........................ - 11/07/09 12:13 PM
It has been learned that George W Bush and his lovely wife Laura went to Fort Hood, Texas Last evening for a visit. The entire thing was done in secret and without fanfare.
They comforted and listened to families for up to 2 hours. No matter the crisis, class always shines through.
Thank you President and Mrs. Bush for your efforts to show love and comfort to these families in their hour of need and pain.
Thank you and Bless you.

tyler texas homes: Oh yeah, they are real smooth...... - 11/04/09 06:48 AM
The White House distanced itself Wednesday from Democratic losses in two states, saying the races for governor hinged on local issues and were not a referendum on President Barack Obama.
Still, exit polls showed more than four in 10 voters in Virginia said their view of Obama factored into their choice. Those voters roughly split between expressing support and opposition for the president. The Obama factor was similar in New Jersey, though there were slightly more voters who said the president did not factor into their choice.
Obama had inserted himself into the races, campaigning for both Corzine and Deeds and … (10 comments)

tyler texas homes: Time for some fun. - 11/02/09 05:23 AM
I get to have some fun next week. I am going to Barton Creek resort in Austin on Monday and have a meeting on Tuesday morning followed by golf and diner with business friends.
Barton Creek is one of my favorite places to play golf and relax. All 3 courses are great and offer some wonderful challenges.
Not to mention some quite time. I could use some of that right about now. The next 3 months are packed, so this will be a great time to relax and win some money on the golf course.
I hope everyone gets out and … (5 comments)

tyler texas homes: Lets make the most of it..... - 11/01/09 01:16 AM
Well, it looks as if we did get the tax credit for home buyer's extended. As real estate pros we should do every thing possible to take advantage of it.
With almost a TRILLION dollars spent bailing out banks and such, this is the one thing that actually got to the end user. Amazing to me, that under the basic rules of business, the end user is supreme. Yet under the basic rules of government they are not.
Lets all do the most we can with this small amount for the public.

tyler texas homes: My cash for clunkers program........ - 10/30/09 01:29 AM
Ok in keeping with the spirit of the cash for clunkers program, I now introduce the new and improved version.
*The product is not efficient.
*The product spews gaseous vapors and harmful things into the atmosphere and environment.
*The product rarely functions properly.
*The product has outlived it's usefulness.
*The product requires to many resources to continue running.
*The product is crippling our economic structure.

We will give the customary $4500 for the proper disposal of the product. The product must be disposed of and no remnants can remain.

The product???? The House and the Senate.

tyler texas homes: Sales on Mars? - 10/29/09 12:40 PM
Well the figures are in, It cost $24,000.00 for every car sold under the cash for clunkers program. Edmunds.com, a website car dealers have respected for years published the data and explained that this is common for incentive based programs.
The White House imediatly attacks them, saying they must be talking about sales on Mars. Any kind of financial incentive in the car business always costs several times the public or published amount, so it's no big deal. This administration is so anxious to attack anyone, they fail to realize when a fact is a fact in the business sense.

tyler texas homes: If we could only run our business this way? - 10/29/09 09:35 AM
Politicians say solutions aren't simple, but they really are. If you make something complicated you are almost always doing one of two things. You are either trying to hide or cover-up some previous mistake or malfeasance. Or you have something hidden in the solution for somebody else you want to pay back. Both are common in Washington as well as state government.  Do you realize that our Political leaders do things everyday that would get you and I fired in the real world "we" live in? A politicians vote is for sale on almost every bill that is introduced. This is … (5 comments)

tyler texas homes: If you could? - 10/26/09 04:32 AM
If you could open a business that had low overhead and very little expense over what you have already paid out, would you be interested? Advertising is minimal and often times shared. You can do it from home or an office if you desire. You can take the kids to school and pick them up if you want. You can make 6 figures with good "smart" business models that are of virtually no cost to you. If done right there free and given to you in abundance with great joy by the giver. Want a bigger business for the same investment … (1 comments)

tyler texas homes: I was thinking about a new business. - 10/24/09 09:34 AM
I was thinking about a new business. I decided I would look at opening a grocery store. I want to comply with every law and rule that is now in effect as well as the ones being proposed by this administration for our future.
You know the ones, crap and trade, socialized medicine, eco friendly products only, green packaging, ect.....

Some prices I think I may have to charge for a few things.
Bread-$24 a loaf
Milk-$18 a gallon and only from cows who volunteered.
Flour-$50 a pound
Should take 20 employees to run the place, but will have to … (7 comments)

If a conservative doesn't like guns -- he doesn't buy one.   If a liberal doesn't like guns -- he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian -- he doesn't eat meat.   If a liberal is a vegetarian -- he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative sees a foreign threat -- he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.   If a liberal sees a foreign threat -- he wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.
If a conservative is homosexual -- he quietly leads his life.   If a liberal is homosexual … (9 comments)

tyler texas homes: Never give up..... - 10/22/09 02:27 PM

During the course of one of my very first training sessions we had a very nice lady who was new to the Real Estate business. After talking to her for a few minutes I began to realize that this was probably the most timid person I had ever met in my life. As most of you know I am a raging fool when I train. I love energy and I bounce all over the room and tell jokes and interact with everyone. But with this nice lady, I got nothing, zip, nada. Man, did ever feel like I let her … (13 comments)
