Home Sales Report Summery Home Sales report for East King County Cities of Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah & Sammamish. In December of 2010 sales have been down  in King County, Washington  down 1.06% from December of 2009(1,776 vs. 1,795).  The Eastside fared better in that closed sales were up 3.03%(612 v 694)  The good news is that the momentum seems to be building in that pending sales are up 4.36% on the Eastside; however all of King County showed a nominal drop in pendings down 2.72% mostly in part to Seattle and SE King County.  Inventories were down 3.90% on the Eastside … (0 comments)

This weeks economic news shows that there is a silver lining in these dark clouds.  Confidence is up more than expected. Housing prices continue to slump in the wake of the housing credit expiration.  Here is a link to the Case-Shiller housing index report.  The Seattle Area is down 2.8%

Home Sales report for East King County Cities of Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah & Sammamish. The chart below breaks down Seattle Washington's Greater Eastside Real Estate homes sales by City, for the week ending 04/05/2010. In Feburary of 2010 sales have been increasing in King County, Washington  up 44.9% from Febuary 2009.   The good news is that the average sales price on the Eastside was up .57% compared to all of King County (-1.29%) from the same time last year.  Inventories are also down 16.72%(King County 9.76%) from Febuary of 2009. The chart above depicts the annual returns of the U.S. National, the 10-City Composite and the 20-City Composite Home Price Indices. The S&P/Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price Index, which covers all nine U.S. census divisions, recorded a 2.5% decline in the fourth quarter of 2009 versus the fourth quarter of 2008. This is a significant improvement over the annual rates reported in the first, second and third quarters of the year, at -19.0%, -14.7% and -8.7%, respectively. Should the Senate pass the tax credit for home buyers?  In a effort to stimulate the sagging housing market, the US Senate has been talking about offering various tax credits for home buyers.
There seem to be quite a few options on the table.  I noticed NAR Chief Economist Lawrance Yun made some great comments in his article on March 31st.
"A broad $5,000 tax credit for any owner-occupying homebuyer - for foreclosed, existing, or new homes and by a first-time or repeat homebuyer - will, according to our estimates:
