It looks like for the first time in 2006 the average home price on the Outer Banks has declined by 2.8% as of 10/16/06.  I have noticed over the last few solds on MLS the sales price was 20 to 30% below asking price. Sellers are finally getting to the point where they realize that if they do not take an offer now they might have to sit on their property for some time. According to a Bizjournals survey to identify the Top 10 "dreamtowns" of America, Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks of North Carolina made the list at #7. As a resident in Kill Devil Hills I am certainly biased and agree with the survey.
