In the midst of Niceville High School's A+ award ceremony, senior Jennica Hagberg was called up to the podium, where a representative from Wendy's informed her that she is one of six female finalists for the Wendy's High School Heisman award. The award is given to student athletes who excel academically and devote themselves to community service. Over 32,000 students applied for the honor this year.
"I was very surprised. I knew I was a state finalist, but I had no idea about the rest," stated Hagberg after the ceremony.

Okaloosa Schools Continue the Tradition of Excellence with 32 A's and 4 B's - 01/18/08 12:07 PM
Today the 2007 school grades were released by Florida Department of Education Commissioner Blomberg and Deputy Commissioner Pfeiffer.  School grades are largely based on FCAT scores, but also include a formula that requires low performing students to make significant gains.  This year, two additional criteria were added to the formula: science scores from grades 5, 8 and 11 and progress of students in the lowest quartile in math.  These additions result in a total of eight criteria used to determine school grades.  In other words the bar has been raised.  Despite the increasing number and difficulty of the criteria, Okaloosa schools … (0 comments)

While the national* mean dropped five points on the 2006 Critical Reading SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), Okaloosa County School District (OCSD) students showed a four point improvement over last year. In math, Okaloosa's mean score rose six points, while the national mean decreased by two points.
 
As a result of this improvement, Okaloosa students' mean of 525 for Critical Reading is now a full 22 points above the national figure. In math, Okaloosa's mean is 532, 14 points above the national mean of 518.

What bothers me would be the point who is this guy to say what the market will or will not do in the next five years and to paint a broad picture for a whole area.
