The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is upon us!

It's the time we decorate our homes and shop for those special people on our list. 

For many of us as REALTORS®, it's the time to think back at the year and what has been accomplished.  It is also a time to look ahead at the new business year and plan accordingly.  

As we toured this morning at the new homes for sale in our area and I later checked on my current listings, I realized that the best holiday gift for sellers would be a "SOLD" sign in their front yard. 

I wish all sellers the best of luck and look forward to bringing them the gift they really want...their SOLD house!

I just received some great news!  MY MUM AND DAD IN LAW ARE COMING FROM ENGLAND!  It's been seven years since they've been to Pullman, WA and now they're coming for a long awaited visit.  The last time we saw them was in England...two and half years ago to be exact.  My husband took the WSU Soccer team to play in his homeland.  It was an incredible experience and one that we will never forget.  This fantastic news brought back some great memories of the beautiful countryside, and the wonderful people.

My daughter is also thrilled to have Grandma and Grampi come for a visit.  It is hard for her sometimes having her grandparents so far away. And now, we will be able to share some special places, special people and fun times here in the beautiful Northwest.

This amazing news brought me to look at some pictures from our England journey and I thought I might share a couple of them!

Well, I caught myself again.  I quietly opened the kitchen cabinet and pulled out the plastic pumpkin full of candy.  Ok, let's see...which one will I pick?  My daughter has given me the list of the ones I can choose from and she doesn't like.  Hmmmm, is there one in there?  Yes!  I see it!  A REESE'S CUP for me.  I love the days following Halloween. The extra candy is great and if you're lucky enough to have your child trick or treat for candy and give you their not so favorite...it makes for a Happy Day!  Happy Candy Eating!

 

Kids, Candy, Pumpkins, and a beautiful Fall day in Pullman, WA. What more could you ask for? It was the perfect setting for the Annual Pumpkin Patch sponsored by our office, Coldwell Banker Tomlinson. After Soccer games, and early Saturday outings, families stopped by to receive their free pumpkin, listen to some great Halloween music and get plenty of candy and apple cider.

I'm working at the office this afternoon and as I look outside, I see a mixture of snow and rain and think, "SNOW, please NO, not yet!".  It is inevitable.  It's the last week of October, Halloween is on Saturday and Winter is upon us, but it is hard for me to accept that SNOW is coming to our town of Pullman, WA. 

 

I've had a number of colleagues and clients call or stop by and say the same thing.  Why is it so hard to accept?  Maybe it's the cold days, the dark mornings, and driving in the snow that makes people a little cranky and hesistant to accept what's coming. 

I will not be cranky.  I will smile like this pumpkin on Halloween.

As REALTORS®, we strive to provide assistance. education, and customer service to buyers or sellers in real estate transactions.  As an organization, the WHITMAN COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, strives to provide the tools and resources to REALTORS® so they may provide the highest level of service to their clients. 

A committee made up of local Pullman REALTORS® met on September 30th and October 1st to establish a short and long terms set of goals for the association.  Some of the BOLD STEPS created to support the VISION for the WCAR that the committee established are:

1.  Develop a strong and involved Government Affairs committee that would address local government issues.

2.  Establish a Community Service Calender for Annual WCAR projects.

3.  Develop a Membership Outreach Program.

4.  Develop a VALUE Marketing plan for the Whitman County Association of REALTORS.

5.  Increase General Meeting and Function Involvement.

The Strategic Planning Committee in working to establish these steps provided direction to the WCAR to acheive its goals.  It was exciting to be a part of this committee that united in ideas and a common goal to enhance the contribution of our Association.
