Congratulations to our Fifth-Grader.  She made it through the first week of Fifth Grade at Sunnyside Elementary in Pullman WA with flying colors.  Granted there were only three days of school this week, but she was all smiles on Friday!  Loves it!  Loves her teacher, her friends and can't wait to go back on Monday.

We are extremely lucky in Pullman WA.  We have great schools that rank consistently in the top of the state, the parents are very involved and the children enjoy being in school immensely.
Much of that I believe is due to the teachers, the administration and the School Board that we have in Pullman WA.  There is a lot of time given by these dedicated individuals wanting to contribute to the ovearall state of our education in our community.

Beginning this Friday, June 10th, the Pullman Police Department will be targeting those offenders that do not adhere to the law.  This law specifically makes the use of cell phones and text messaging while driving illegal.  This date marks one year that State Law (RCW 46.61.668) makes texting, reading a text or sending a text illegal while driving.  In addition, State Law (RCW 46.61.667) prohibits drivers to make a call or even place a mobile telephone device to the ear while driving a vehicle.

Another thing to love about Pullman, WA.  Eating out around town to benefit the Pullman School District.  And this is the week you can ask around town, "What Are You Having For Dinner Tonight"?
From May 16th to May 20th, the community is in the midst of Dine Out For Schools Week.  There are a number of restaurants in our town,  eleven to be exact, that have joined in donating 10% of their proceeds this week to the Pullman Education Foundation.  All you have to do is mention the Foundation, and the funds will be given to this great organization.

pullman wa: It's Spring on the Palouse! Snow and Sun...15 Minutes Apart! - 04/18/11 02:38 PM
It's April on the Palouse!  I love this time of year in Pullman, WA.  Time for the flowers to begin to bloom, time to begin to wear lighter jackets for the cool weather and rain and time for the Sun to shine more often than not.  You can imagine my surprise this afternoon, as I was in the midst of a Snow Blizzard.  Absolutely crazy!  The snowflakes were about an inch in size and the skies were very gray.  It was like a Winter afternoon on this April Afternoon!

WSU Athletics, one of my favorite things to keep up to date on.  I enjoy being a WSU Coug and knowing when the next sport event will take place is definitely important.

This is one of my most favorite pictures of my husband.  Every time I look at it, I can feel the thrill of that victory all over again.  His stance and expression says it all!  What a game!  I can remember it like it was yesterday.  November 2008, WSU Women's Soccer Team defeats ASU Soccer 1-0 in overtime.  The weather was cold, rainy and the fog was so thick you couldn't see the other side of the field.  It was an incredible Soccer game filled with emotion!  The win was another step closer to the NCAA Soccer tournament.  It was the moment … (3 comments)

It was a cold day today in Pullman WA.  I've lived in Pullman WA for almost eight years now.  I know snow, cold and some pretty mighty wind storms.  Today it was extremely cold.  Now it could be that we've had a relatively mild winter this year, so maybe I'm spoiled, but it was very cold today.

I've had a number of calls and emails sent to me regarding this fantastic article in Businessweek this week.  Our community is excited and I am too!  Pullman WA, our incredible community, was named the Number One town in WA to raise Children 2011!  Whohoo!  

The article looks at smaller communities for this study.  Education, recreational activities, crime activity and cost of living were the focus in making their determination.
