lake oswego: Taming the "not so centered" fireplace - 05/20/09 05:26 PM
This is a recent staging job that we completed. We viewed the property months ago and the file sat dorment. Out of the blue, the homeowner called and wanted the property staged NOW! We were able to pull the inventory together in a hurry and set the project the next day. We had 2 1/2 hours to set this house and the "staging gods" were watching over us that day.

lake oswego: Credit Card Caution - 04/10/09 12:29 AM
With CC lenders pulling back on limits, be carreful on billing clients whose cards you have. Do not rely on the fact that you have their CC number, they might no longer have the limit and you might be stuck.

lake oswego: Thinking outside of the "Fireplace Box" - 04/09/09 05:38 PM
This is a great solution we have used on quite a few ocacasions. This fills an empty fireplace in an un-conventional way. We always get positive comments on this.

lake oswego: Float that furniture... - 04/08/09 02:08 PM
When staging, do not be afraid to float upholstered furniture. By floating the furniture, and getting the items away from the wall, the room will appear larger and give more traffic flow. Run cords to lamps under rugs to get light into the center of the room. Never have a cord sail through the air. People will find a way to trip, even if the cord is out of the way.

lake oswego: OK Staging Non-Believers..My RANT!!! Re-Post - 04/06/09 01:42 PM
OK... We alll know the market has tanked... Buyers still have the same desire to buy a great home. If you are not staging or using redesign services, your listing will rot on the market. Buyers are in control today. They want a move-in ready home. If your listing needs any type of paint, they will look at the next property on their list. YOUR PROPERTY NEEDS TO LOOK FABULOUS.. NOT JUST FINE! Consider the internet as the "new drive-by". Buyers will look at an average of 12 properties before contacting an agent. The images you put on the internet is

lake oswego: Things are improving - 04/02/09 03:23 PM
Finally.. Things are starting to improve little by little. The phone is ringing again, appointments are up and the all important setting of a property is up. We currently have about 48 properties going and are getting many new agents. I think that the "staging mantra" is finally starting to work. I still see many scary properties on the market, and I almost become jaded. I do not understand how agents do not guide their clients to staging/or a redesign consultation. For the most part, the home is the largest asset you have, and as we all know, you only get

lake oswego: Is the client really importlant? - 04/01/09 01:21 PM
So, I just finished a job with a client that was a dream. She fully understood the concept of staging, didn't balk about the price and let me have fun! I have found over and over again and I am sure many stagers have too that when a client gives you full rein witha project, it will turn out to benefit objectives: 1. To showcase the property to it's fullest potential, 2. Make the client happy and 3. Give you a sense of accomplishment and great photos to later market yourself. A bad client can make all of the above much
