tigard: OK Staging Skeptics.. Pending after 8 days.... - 06/22/09 05:47 PM
We staged this property on June 10th.  We got an e-mail for an extactic homeowner that they have an accepted offer after 8 days.  For those of you who are still "staging skeptics", this is proof that a quick Fluff and buff pays off for a savvy agent and homeowner.

tigard: What a FUN project.. It came out of the BLUE - 06/10/09 05:25 PM
This was a project that come out of the blue.  The homeowners had viewed a property that we currently have on the market.  This was a starter home, but had not been updated for the past 12 years.  The owners had a limited budget to paint exterior/interior and carpet.  This is a before/after of the living room. Unfortunately those BEAUTIFUL FIREPLACE DOORS HAD TO STAY!  From start to finish this project took us 3 weeks and we came in under budget.

tigard: LAST MINUTE STAGINGS CAN HAPPEN! - 04/17/09 08:19 PM
This agent was part of the UlLTIMATE OPEN HOUSE NEW HOME TOUR here in Portland.  She needed her property staged before Saturday. If you want it bad enough and the STAGING GODS are your friends that day, it can happen.  We received a call on Thursday morning about a project , only had time to view it on-line and pretty much winged it!  We weither have too mcuh stuff or not enough... it turned out to be the second option.  Back to the warehouse I went to get last minute accessories while the crew continued to set.  This is where it … (10 comments)

tigard: Credit Card Caution - 04/10/09 12:29 AM
With CC lenders pulling back on limits, be carreful on billing clients whose cards you have.  Do not rely on the fact that you have their CC number, they might no longer have the limit and you might be stuck.

tigard: Small can be BIG!! - 04/09/09 05:33 PM
We staged this small condo conversion here in Portland.  The agent was not sure we could put everything into the unit (she said it was not big enough).  Boy was she surprised when she came back.

tigard: OK Staging Non-Believers..My RANT!!! Re-Post - 04/06/09 01:42 PM
OK... We alll know the market has tanked... Buyers still have the same desire to buy a great home.  If you are not staging or using redesign services, your listing will rot on the market.  Buyers are in control today.  They want a move-in ready home.  If your listing needs any type of paint, they will look at the next property on their list.  YOUR PROPERTY NEEDS TO LOOK FABULOUS.. NOT JUST FINE!
Consider the internet as the "new drive-by".  Buyers will look at an average of 12 properties before contacting an agent.  The images you put on the internet is … (13 comments)

tigard: Things are improving - 04/02/09 03:23 PM
Finally..  Things are starting to improve little by little.  The phone is ringing again, appointments are up and the all important setting of a property is up.  We currently have about 48 properties going and are getting many new agents.  I think that the "staging mantra" is finally starting to work.  I still see many scary properties on the market, and I almost become jaded.  I do not understand how agents do not guide their clients to staging/or a redesign consultation.  For the most part, the home is the largest asset you have, and as we all know, you only get … (2 comments)

tigard: Is the client really importlant? - 04/01/09 01:21 PM
So, I just finished a job with a client that was a dream.  She fully understood the concept of staging, didn't balk about the price and let me have fun!  I have found over and over again and I am sure many stagers have too that when a client gives you full rein witha  project, it will turn out to benefit objectives: 1.  To showcase the property to it's fullest potential, 2. Make the client happy and 3. Give you a sense of accomplishment and great photos to later market yourself.  A bad client can make all of the above much … (4 comments)
