oakville ontario real estate: Oakville, Ontario Real Estate - A Great Community To Live, Work & Play - 11/21/11 05:39 PM
Oakville, Ontario is located in an enviable geographic position.  Sitting on the shores of Lake Ontario, and centrally located between the large cities of Toronto and Hamilton, the Town of Oakville with a population of approximately 175,000 still retains a small town community feel.
The GO commuter trains are full every morning with Oakville residents travelling to their jobs in downtown Toronto.  Luckily, the Town of Oakville has a number of large employers, allowing many residents to live and work in close proximity.
Here is a list of Oakville's Top Ten Employers

oakville ontario real estate: Moose Monday - Montreal Moose - 06/01/10 12:34 AM
It isn't often that I am able to post to the group Moose Monday.  We don't have moose walking up and down the streets in Oakville, Ontario like my  fellow bloggers Gerry in Red Lodge, Montana and Debra in Homer, Alaska.
I did however spend a little time on the streets of Montreal, Quebec a couple of weeks ago and I was fortunate enough to find some moose that hopefully qualifiy as fodder for the esteemed Moose Monday club.
Here is a month's worth of Moose Mondays.

oakville ontario real estate: Take Me Home - To Oakville, Ontario - 01/07/10 11:01 PM
I've done my share of promoting the Town of Oakville with my past blogs and photos.  I happened to find this video on Youtube that I thought I would share.
Oakville Mayor Rob Burton narrates this short snapshot of our beautiful  and vibrant town.  I find it very easy to promote Oakville's virtues to out of town clients. Leafy neighbourhoods, quality schools and a charming downtown core are just a few reasons to call Oakville home.

oakville ontario real estate: What's Your Name ? - Could You Spell That Please ? - 12/14/09 06:17 PM
If you have a name that is unusual or difficult to pronounce you will be very familiar with the above scenario.  My last name is mispronounced so often that when someone says it correctly I always applaud them for getting it right.
My last name "Kotulak" is my married name.  It is pronounced Ko (like toe) Tu (like duh) Lak (like slack) When someone calls looking for Mrs. Kotchalak, Cootalak, Kotyoulak, etc. I always tell them "close enough."  My husband and I decided that we should give our kids common first names so that they didn't have to spell both first and last names.

oakville ontario real estate: Why Buy And Sell Real Estate In November & December ? - Why Not ? - 11/03/09 10:51 AM
Many people feel that November and December are less than stellar months to buy or sell a home. I don't believe there is ever a bad time of year to make a real estate transaction.  Here are 10 reasons why  these months present  great opportunities.1. Unmotivated sellers take their homes off the market. Therefore there is LESS COMPETITION for serious sellers. Unmotivated sellers will put their homes back on the market in January when a rush of other will also. Chances are they still won't sell unless they are priced correctly and show well.2. Homes SHOW WELL over the holidays. Seasonal decorations, warm fires, … (15 comments)

oakville ontario real estate: Oakville Ontario Sales Statistics - May 2009 - 06/07/09 04:20 PM
This is a good news report.  For the first time in 2009 we have experienced a month of increased sales and prices in Oakville over the same month in 2008.
May was a very active month for sales in Oakville.  I'm not quite sure what the reasons are.  Perhaps a combination of a late spring market, record low interest rates (long term rates are rising slightly), and increased consumer confidence.
High end homes have started to move and certain price ranges are low in inventory. Many homes have been selling at list price and other properties are actually seeing multiple offers.  Overall, I still feel … (3 comments)

oakville ontario real estate: When Is A Compliment Really A Compliment ? - 05/11/09 06:51 PM
"You look nice - you look like a penguin".  Thank you.....I think?  I was on my way out the door to do an open house on Saturday when these words came tumbling out of my husband's (big enough to put his foot in ) mouth.
Now my husband isn't real big on compliments, so I wasn't sure if this was an honest attempt at one or just his strange sense of humor coming through loud and clear.  I went and stood in front of the mirror to see if I really did look like a penguin.
O.K. so I had … (21 comments)

oakville ontario real estate: Hot Frogs, Long Tails, and Twitter Tweets --- Secrets for AR Ears Only - 03/02/09 11:29 PM
If you haven't checked out hotfrog.com or hotfrog.ca in Canada you should add yourself to their directory.  I just added my profile a couple of weeks ago, added lots of keywords and am amazed at the amount of SEO it is receiving.  Many of the keywords are landing me on the first or second page of Google.  You are also able to add articles to the site.  And the best part is that it's free.  Who doesn't love free Google juice?
I have found a way to make Twitter work for me.  I have not climbed on board the whole Twitter craze, but I have … (15 comments)
