remax oakville: Meet My New Clients Bill & Sue - 11/25/11 06:13 PM
Bill and Sue** are a typical young Oakville couple. They both have great but demanding jobs and they love to spend their spare time enjoying Oakville restaurants and theatre with their friends. When they bought their fixer upper home, Bill and Sue had some great renovation ideas, but Bill just didn't have the time necessary to complete all of their "projects." Sue is becoming a tad impatient and she is tired of waiting for Bill to repair even the simplest tasks like the leaky taps. Sue has the bug. She knows there are some great new homes being built in Oakville with all the bells and

remax oakville: Oakville, Ontario Real Estate - A Great Community To Live, Work & Play - 11/21/11 05:39 PM
Oakville, Ontario is located in an enviable geographic position. Sitting on the shores of Lake Ontario, and centrally located between the large cities of Toronto and Hamilton, the Town of Oakville with a population of approximately 175,000 still retains a small town community feel. The GO commuter trains are full every morning with Oakville residents travelling to their jobs in downtown Toronto. Luckily, the Town of Oakville has a number of large employers, allowing many residents to live and work in close proximity. Here is a list of Oakville's Top Ten Employers 1. Halton District School Board - 4000 2. Ford Motor

remax oakville: Buying New Or Resale - Is It A Coin Toss? - 08/29/10 05:09 PM
Buying new or resale - Is it a coin toss? Not usually. I find today's buyers have specific needs and wants and tend to lean one way or the other. Buyers looking at new or newer homes desire the bells and whistles that these homes provide. Hardwood and ceramic flooring, 3 or 4 bathrooms, great room with vaulted ceilings, large windows. They only have to do finishing touches such as adding fencing, landscaping, central air or maybe repainting or finishing the basement down the line. Lot size and mature neighbourhood are not the highest priorities on their wish list. They may not have the

remax oakville: Moose Monday - Montreal Moose - 06/01/10 12:34 AM
It isn't often that I am able to post to the group Moose Monday. We don't have moose walking up and down the streets in Oakville, Ontario like my fellow bloggers Gerry in Red Lodge, Montana and Debra in Homer, Alaska. I did however spend a little time on the streets of Montreal, Quebec a couple of weeks ago and I was fortunate enough to find some moose that hopefully qualifiy as fodder for the esteemed Moose Monday club. Here is a month's worth of Moose Mondays. The Biodome, Montreal,Quebec Through the storefront window Almost real Moose Crossing

remax oakville: Deliver The Letter - The Sooner The Better - 03/17/10 12:47 PM
"Deliver the letter, the sooner the better." Who can forget these lyrics from the famous Beatles tune. Oh yes, wait just a minute mister postman Wait, wait mister postman (Mister postman look and see) oh yeah (If there's a letter in the bag for me) Please mister postman (I've been waiting a long long time)oh, yeah (Since I heard from that gal of mine) Today many relationships begin and even end online. Personal and business. Long gone are the days of the messenger riding off on his horse to deliver important news. Or the stagecoach stopping into the post office/general store/social meet-up spot with parcels. Or

remax oakville: It's Almost March But Winter Has Arrived - Oakville Is Now SN'Oakville - 02/26/10 10:52 PM
It was bound to happen sooner or later. Winter that is. I mean the calendar said it officially began on December 21st. In three weeks spring will have sprung. This afternoon's rain turned to snow as soon as the temperature dipped below the freezing mark. Tonight the trees are sagging under the weight of the white stuff and there is some serious driveway shovelling going on. I had to show a house this afternoon so my son chauferred me due to my broken ankle and afterwards I asked him to take me to the harbour so I could take a few

remax oakville: HGTV's Top 10 Things To Look For In A Potential Agent - Plus My 2 Cents Worth Of Course - 01/10/10 09:27 PM
I was reading an article on the Home and Garden Television Canada website titled "How to Find a Real Estate Agent" One of the positive aspects of the article was that they did recommend using a REALTOR, stating that a good real estate agent is essential. I did however wince at the next part of the sentence - insinuating that a good real estate agent is hard to find. Ouch. Below is the article written by the editorial staff at www.hgtv.ca with regards to the top 10 things to look for in a potential agent. While I agree wholeheartedly with some of these

remax oakville: Out With The Old - In With The New - Year That Is - But What Say You? - 12/31/09 05:27 PM
Okay I know tomorrow is 2010 but I'm not quite sure how to pronounce it. Do I say two thousand and ten or just two thousand ten, or twenty ten? Which is the politically correct way? Or better yet, which way do teachers teach their students? Or does it REALLY matter? How did you say 2009? I started saying it to myself today to see how it spilled out. Two thousand nine. Two thousand and nine. I had no clue which way I had been pronouncing the outgoing year. I tried to think how many times I might have even spoken the

remax oakville: Offer Presentations - Is It Really Necessary To Burn The Midnight Oil ? - 12/17/09 08:13 PM
I was speaking to a new agent recently and she was looking very frazzled and tired looking. She got very busy, very quickly upon entering the business. She prospects by regularly knocking on doors, cold calling and sitting at open houses, borrowing them from other agents if she has no listings. She does all the things expected of a new agent who starts in the business with no client base. Upon asking her how things were going, she told me she was out late working on an offer at 1:00 a.m. that morning. I remember doing the same thing early in my career but

remax oakville: Which Way Are You Heading ? - Going My Way? - 10/29/09 11:55 PM
Thinking of migrating moving to Oakville, Ontario? Or is it time to leave Oakville for greener pastures? Many species migrate twice a year. That's a lot of work. Building a nest can take some effort. Settling in, exploring your neighbourhood, making new friends takes time. New adventures unfold. Many thrive in their new surroundings and never look back. Others eventually make their way back "home". Whether you are flying solo, with a partner or with a flock always remember "Home is where the heart is." If you are thinking of migrating
