tavistock ontario: Where Do I Live? Well It Depends Who Is Asking - 05/26/11 11:13 PM
It's been 4 months now since we pulled up roots in Oakville, Ontario and drove an hour and a bit in a south western direction to Tavistock, Ontario. Oakville - Population 175,000 - Tavistock - Population - 2,400 Oakville is a fairly well known name. It's an upscale community on the shores of Lake Ontario midway between the metropolitan cities of Toronto and Hamilton. Tavistock, not so much. Tavistock's claim to fame is playing host to the annual World Crokinole Championship. This year the games are being held June 4th. Tavistock only has one stoplight but it controls a wonky 5 way intersection.

But on the way to Stratford I just had to stop in at my favourite stores in the village of Shakespeare. The well known Best Little Pork Shoppe has just reopened for the season. I left there with some wonderful smoked chops and the best peameal bacon I've ever tasted. Some home

tavistock ontario: Rural Roots - #1 - Heading Down The Road - 02/09/11 12:08 AM
It's been 10 days since we packed the moving truck, a pickup truck, a van and my car and left Oakville for our new home in Tavistock an hour and a bit down the road. Ten action packed days, I must add. The journey down Highway 401 was not without incident as I noticed an object flying across the road ahead of us. At first I thought it was just a piece of cardboard but as we drove a little further we noticed a box spring laying on the shoulder of the road, and a car in the middle lane stopped
