My crystal ball just broke, so I thought perhaps I could achieve clairvoyance by attending the recent seminar “Economic Expectations – a Forecast of the Housing Market in 2012” at the Federal Reserve in Boston.
The speakers sounded impressive!  Their PHds from Harvard, Northeastern University, Freddie Mac, NAR, & the Federal Reserve, trumped my BS from UNH…  I figured could learn from the experts!
1st consistent message: Unemployment is the biggest cause of the downturn in the real estate market.  It isn’t that people are walking away from their homes – they have simply run out of options.
