The 700 Billion with a "B" question is, to bail or not to bail? So if we bail we will: increase liquidity to the market by removing their bad debt encourage banks to loan money to each other encourage banks to lend to individuals instill confidence to Foreign investors lessen the impact of current create a debt that will be felt for generation to come So if we don't bail The credit markets may seize up The economy may go into a deep recession people may feel a hurt not seen since the great depression force Wall Street to fend for … (3 comments)

I'll Slap you so Hard! - 09/23/08 10:47 AM
Do you remember when you were a kid plays snaps with you buddies. You would say things like, I will slap you so hard your unborn children will feel it.
Well, our governement is about to slap us that hard. The pain from these bailouts will be so hard that the unborn children of your unborn children will feel it.
Just like pulling a band aid off fast is supposed to make it hurt less, congress is trying to get this done fast before the pain really sinks in.
Unfortunately America is going to be feeling the sting from this one … (13 comments)

I smell Bacon! Your tax dollars hard at work. - 09/22/08 10:27 AM
Gee what a shock, the Democrats and the President differ on how to bailout all of the junk mortgage loans on Wall Street. Obviously there is just not enough pork in the bill to make them happy. Does anything get passed in this country anymore without adding three slabs of bacon and two tons of baby back ribs to it.
Are you as sick & tired of corporate welfare disguised as a bailout for the average American. You can sure tell it is an election year, if it wasn't we would all be left to twist in the wind.

Listings not driving the bus anymore - 09/21/08 10:16 PM
It used to be that listings meant buyers. You would receive lots of sign calls or grab a couple of buyers from an open house but it seems listings are starting to become a little bit of a liability.
Gone are the days of mutiple offers on the first day and sign calls by the dozen in prime neighborhoods. It was always said that if you want to be succesful in this business that you need to list properties.
I had the luxury of commiting career suicide almost 3 years ago by moving to a city that I knew exactly zero people. … (7 comments)

Note to Hollywood stars, we don't care what you think! - 09/21/08 08:51 PM
I am sick & tired of these self righteous Hollywood stars trying to tell us what we are supposed to think. I like it a lot better when you just act. You are entertainers period. Tom Smothers, I didn't realize you were still alive and neither did most of America. You are a comedian, make me laugh. Do you really think that your spew won you any fans tonight. Well I guess maybe a few, Tim Robbins, Sean Penn & George Clooney. Your desperation to win this election is pathetic, why don't you spend more time on your day job because … (11 comments)

A.I.G. stands for... - 09/16/08 08:38 PM
America's Indebtiness Grows by another 85 Billion Dollars What's next? Are we going to start passing the hat at church? Maybe we can have a lemonade stand for corporate welfare.
A government that was established of the people, by the people and for the people is now a government of the rich people, by the rich people and for the rich people. They just throw a couple scraps down so the peasants don't revolt.

A letter from my Senator and why I am going to vote you out! - 09/16/08 02:22 PM
When I found out our elected officials were going to get rid of Seller Funded Down Payment assistance I spent the day calling my Senators and congressman. They politely thanked me for my opinion and then kindly ignored it by voting to eliminate Down Payment Assistance. Below is a copy of a letter I received in response from my lovely Senator Sam Brownback.

Bear Stearns,Fannie, Freddie, Lehman Bros., Merryl Lynch, AIG & the fed, whose next? - 09/16/08 01:50 PM
Anybody else want to screw us today? There are prisoners in the jailhouse shower who are less scared to bend over than the average American.
Is there anything or anyone else we can bail out today. The line for corporate welfare is getting longer than the soup lines during the great depression.
So whose next?
There is an acronym for this, it is called
BOHICA Bend Over here it comes again!

My first 50,000 points, tougher than I thought - 09/15/08 10:19 PM
Wow, I finally reached 50,000 points on Active Rain. I have read blog posts from agent who have amassed over 100k in  points in 6 months or less. Well it took me over a year to generate this mini-milestone.
I am still waiting for my ellusive featured post. Maybe in my next 50,000 I will finally get one. I know a couple of posts lately have been agaist the point system but I think it is ingenous and when I introduce new agents to AR they usually don't get it. If they only knew the power of the Rain.

No Really, What are you waiting for? - 09/09/08 01:53 PM
With the down turn in the economy and a looming presidential election, I don't think people know what good news sounds like anymore. Take for instance the $7500 tax credit for first time buyers. This is an incredible deal, you buy a house and come next April you will get $7500, Wow Mike $7500 dollars. I don't know if I am ready yet, the media hasn't given me permission to buy a house. Plus my parents think that I should wait till it is a sellers market again.
Well if $7500 wasn't enough interest rates dropped over a half percent yesterday. … (1 comments)
