Okay Gang, it's time for a reminder lesson on proper blogging and the use of outside sources.  When I first began blogging here at AR, I made the mistake of quoting large amounts of information from outside sources without giving proper credit to the original author(s).  I was called on the carpet for plagiarizing the material and was totally embarrassed. 
The lesson I learned is that if you want to use outside material that was written by someone else, you must give proper credit to that source, including the location of the website where you obtained the material AFTER OBTAINING PERMISSION FROM … (34 comments)

Why You Should Check Your Blog for Plagiarism
If you've been around Active Rain very long, you probably know all about plagiarism.  This is when someone copies your blog and then puts it out as a new blog like they wrote it. 
There are several excellent free Plagiarism checkers you can use now to check your blog.  All you have to do is to search Google for Plagiarism Checker.  I usually use The Plagiarism Checker by the University of Maryland because it is simple and fast.
