hiking: Rice Lake State Park, Owatonna Minnesota - 06/02/08 09:10 PM
We are so fortunate to have a State Park about 7 miles from our backyard.  Yesterday a friend and I biked about 26 miles out and about in our rural landscape.  On our journey we rode to Rice Lake State Park which is a wonderful spot to visit for a weekend or a day.  There are 42 camping sites at the park, with 3 of them accessible only by canoe. 
According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources State Park  website - American Indians harvested wild rice from this lake where today, the shallow waters and marshy edges of Rice Lake attract … (0 comments)

hiking: Warning - Beautiful Owatonna Photos Don't Look if Snow is Offensive to You - 03/01/08 10:38 AM
Warning - if you don't like snow you may be offended by my photos - but this year we have plenty of it.  I want to show off my community.  We've been fortunate to raise our family, make lasting friendships, grow a business, and have fun all while living in Owatonna, Minnesota.  Owatonna is a community of 24,000 about 50 miles south on I-35 from the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.  We are also 45 minutes west of the famed Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
